The husband is 61 and the wife is 56 years old. They embarked on the journey of fitness together and are now idols for many on social media.
A couple that stays fit together stays strong forever. A 61-year-old and 56-year-old from Seoul, Korea, are setting the bar high for what a healthy couple looks like, quite literally. They managed to become partners who not only shared interests but also were partners in their fitness journey. Popularly known as @okdong_fit on social media, the senior couple shows that it is not only young couples who can have a date at the gym. They have built a following around their fitness-oriented lifestyle by sharing their joint workouts with the world, which is heartwarming and inspiring. These two clearly love exercise as much as they love each other, from morning stretches and gym dates to partnered squatting sessions, even on vacations.

Grace Kang, their daughter, told the story of her parents' fitness journey in a video. Grace mentioned that her father was inspired by a popular South Korean trend in August 2022 in which people exercised for six months and shared their body changes on the internet. Soon, his wife joined in, as they had always worked as a team, and thus began a wellness journey. When their trial period of training and dieting ended, they had professional photographs taken to commemorate the occasion. But they had discovered a new passion, so they persisted, incorporating this vision into their daily lives. Moreover, the couple is extremely fashionable, which continues to inspire people of all ages.

They always had a connection to sports. Grace shares that her mom was overweight but at the same time, her dad was skinny due to being an amateur kickboxer. After Grace's dad quit kickboxing, he started going out to play soccer every week, so he has always been active. But this activity caused him a knee problem, which resulted in him not being able to walk more than 30 minutes at a time and developing a beer belly over time. He was also diagnosed with pre-diabetes but couldn't focus much on his health since he had a lot on his plate from work. He had cartilage left in his knee, which is why it became crucial for him to reduce his weight to take the pressure off his knee.

When asked by a student about his bucket list, he started focusing on the fitness challenge, something he wasn't too committed to ten years ago. Grace's mother started swimming a year after giving birth to her son and she swam for the next five years. She didn't work out again until 45 when she had to do Pilates to help with her back pain. She then continued with Pilates for ten years.
Grace explained that her parents have always worked well together and this journey was no exception. Even after they had met their initial goal, they decided to keep going and push themselves even further. Having a partner encouraging you does help, but one doesn't have to wait for them in order to start a health-focused lifestyle. Many people who witnessed this journey felt inspired. "Wow! Amazing, super inspired!" commented @king__coldkillah. "That's how I want to look at 60 with my husband," added @veniceblair.
