Dwayne Johnson gifts an emotional song to his mother, Ata Johnson, on the occasion of her 75th birthday.
Mothers are the sweetest beings in the world. For many, having a mom around is the biggest blessing they can have in their life and Dwayne Johnson is certainly someone who feels that way. He celebrated his mother's birthday with an emotional gift to honor the sweet bond they share. In a video uploaded on Instagram, the superstar sang a special tune for his mother on the occasion of her 75th birthday. The whole thing is heartwarming as his mother in recent years, has been through a lot and fought out of them bravely. Both Johnson and his mother have been with each other in a lot of circumstances, something which he quips in the video.
Everyone knows that 'The Rock' is not afraid to speak his mind, which has often led to some pretty public clashes. This time though, the receiver of his unabashed emotions was his lovely mother Ata Johnson. He captioned the sweet video with the message, "Happy birthday mom!!! 75 years of experience, wisdom, hard times, good times, laughter, mana and yet through it all — you truly have the kindest heart I have ever known."
The mother-son pair get very emotional even as he starts singing the song. Johnson says to his mother, "Don't start crying. You are crying." This moment truly means a lot to both of them. As per Daily Mail, the brave lady fought lung cancer and suffered a dangerous collision, all in this decade. It's no wonder that Johnson and his mother always treasure every moment they can spend with each other.
Ata is playing a ukelele and asks her son, "Do you know how to sing in tune?” To this Johnson funnily replies, “I sing in keys that don’t exist.” Thereafter he begins crooning Neil Sedaka’s “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” a song he is clearly dedicating to his mother. The former wrestler sings, “If I should smile with sweet surprise, it’s just that you’ve grown up before my very eyes,” holding a purple lei. Thereafter he adds, “You’ve turned into the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.” At this point, Ata intervened and corrected her son to "woman."
Ata follows along with the act and replies to her son, “Thank you, son. I love you. You grew up under my very own eyes, too.” He added in the caption, “I feel like the luckiest son on earth.” At the end of his post, he wrote “I love you” in Samoan.

This is not the first time the actor has expressed his love for his mother on Instagram. In 2022, the actor shared how he brought his mother her "forever home." "I’ve been lucky enough to have bought her a few homes over the years," Dwayne wrote on Instagram, "This one is special as she's told me over and over these past few years, 'After a lifetime of traveling, I want this home to be my last. That's my dream.'"
The comment section was in awe of the former wrestler's love for his mother. @lgndfrvr appreciated the bond between Johnson and Ata and wrote, "No greater love than a mother's love." @staceyleilua took the opportunity to wish Ata and commented, "Beautiful Mama. Manuia lou aso fanau."
