Cars today come packed with a plethora of features that go beyond just getting you from point A to point B. However, many of these features often go unnoticed or underutilized by drivers. TikTok creator Annie Winterburn (@theorytestpractice), who frequently posts useful driving tips, shared a very informative video where she highlighted a simple and extremely useful feature that is not known to many. The video has got 6248 likes and 93 comments on the social media site so far. The problem she talks about in her video is a common dilemma that drivers face when they drive to a petrol station to refuel.

She starts by inquiring, "Have you ever got to the petrol station and you can't remember which side to go to fill your car up?" The woman reveals that there is a really easy way of knowing the correct side by simply looking at the car's dashboard. Most cars have a picture of a petrol pump next to the fuel gauge on the dashboard, which contains an arrow next to it. The arrow is put there to inform drivers which side of their car has the petrol filler cap. She clarifies, "If there isn't an arrow, the hose of the picture will be either on the left or the right and that will tell you which side your filler cap is on." The creator ends the video by asking if people watching the video already knew about this small but significant feature in their cars.

A lot of people were stunned after discovering this hack and shared their thoughts about it in the comments section. @hhx.05 commented, "I told my dad this a few years ago and he still thanks me for telling him. I literally saw it on a life hack video." @ayeshaesimarie said, "No, I didn't know this really useful information. Thank you. I will definitely use this to help you remember things in the future." @paw19851 shared, "OMG, I have been driving over 20 years, and I have only just found this out, lol. I always get out and check." Many more chimed in about how this small hack had helped them. @lor9888 expressed, "When I learned this a couple of years ago, my life was changed forever."

Another useful hack while driving at night has been shared by Asia (@asiamaee) on TikTok. Asia's video showcases her surprising insight into a commonly overlooked feature of car rearview mirrors. As a journalist, she initially assumed this knowledge was widespread, only to discover that many people didn't know about it. In the video, she points out the little tab beneath the mirror, explaining that when properly adjusted, it allows for a clear view through the rear window. When the tab is flipped up, it only showcases reflections of objects behind the car.

Asia highlights how this is an extremely useful feature for people who frequently drive at night. It allows them to be safe from being blinded by other vehicles' headlights. People loved discovering this feature and thanked her in the comments section. @klassychick2 wrote, "Girl, I learned something new today because, at night, I will be fighting for my life when cars are behind me!" @aesthetixknj remarked, "When you live in the South where there are raised trucks with blinding, retina-burning lights, you learn this very early on."
