Part of parenting is holding your child's hand through mistakes and preventing similar situations in the future. However, there are instances where a parent might choose to support their child and shield them from the consequences of a particular situation. In one such case, a mom came to her daughter's rescue in an unexpected way when she was pulled over for speeding. She gave her daughter the opportunity to explain and then stepped in to help her, capturing the attention of the internet. A video of the amusing incident was shared on Instagram by the daughter, Kamryn (@kamrynwoolf) and her mom (@create_kids_edu).

The video begins with the daughter sitting in her car, calling her mom. A text overlay reads, "Best mom ever?" Kamryn admits, "Mom, I screwed up." Her mom responds, "What happened?" The girl explains, "I was going 55 in a 30, and I freaked out because I was on the phone." As her mom urges her to continue, Kamryn adds, "I told the cop that you fell in the shower and broke your leg so they wouldn't arrest me." Her mom gasps in disbelief, but then her daughter surprises her again, saying, "I know you’re going to kill me, but I need you to help me out."

"Kamryn Lynette," her mom scolded her firmly. "Mom, he’s following me home to make sure you're okay," Kamryn explained. She detailed the entire situation, hoping her mom would help her out of it. When she arrived home, she called out, "Mom, where are you?" Her mom replied, "I’m right here." Kamryn eventually found her mom on the bathroom floor, wrapped in a towel and pretending to have fallen while trying to take a shower. "Are you okay?" the girl asked, to which her mom sighed, "I don't know." This was when she noticed the camera. "God, what are you doing?" she exclaimed, surprised and amused. "I hate you." Kamryn burst into laughter at her mom’s dramatic efforts to save her. "I put on fake tears," her mom revealed.

People took to the comments section of the video to express their thoughts on the incident. @iamroyalty_777 wrote, "I love how Mom sprang right into character, never overthinking it !! Kudos to all the Moms who’d totally show up for their kiddos in spite of whatever!" @laila_i_nahdia commented, "If I were the mother, I would let my daughter be responsible for her own mistake, as this case is a life lesson for her."

@mipersonamismamente remarked, "Any mom would have done it to save her daughter from being arrested... another tale is, I would have screamed at her just after it." @korb.yskid3 expressed, "That's a mom thing. I don't know if I would have played along that time because the kid never learned the lesson that would be... with the ticket!"
