Dramatic chicken comes knocking at couple's door if her 'boyfriend' doesn't tuck her into bed every night

The little bird makes sure she's the center of attention for "her man" and won't let him call it a night until they've gone through their bedtime routine.

Pet parents know just how much of an attention seeker their pets can be. From dramatic antics to playful gestures, these adorable animals and birds are experts at capturing their parent’s focus. While dogs and cats are known for demanding belly rubs or gentle petting, hens can be just as charming! Recently, a viral TikTok video from My Hippie Homestead (@myhippiehomestead) showcased one attention-seeking chicken who sweetly persuaded her owner to tuck her into bed, leaving viewers smitten with her adorable antics.

While the woman frequently shares glimpses of their farm animals, she decided to highlight how much one of their hens, Henrietta, yearned for her boyfriend's attention. The video opens with dusk settling outside as the black hen jumps at the couple's patio door, eager to remind her favorite human that it was time for their nightly routine. In the next clip, Henrietta finally gets her way as the man walks with her to the coop to say goodnight. The little bird has the most adorable waddle, clearly delighted that her demands have been met.

"He's a keeper," the proud girlfriend wrote in the caption. Viewers quickly noticed that the boyfriend was clearly Henrietta's favorite, and she made sure to secure her place in his heart. "The walk looks sassy like she saying, 'I can’t believe you made me come get you when you know damn well what your job is,'" gagged @intothebookverse. "The way she waddles back with him. She can steal your man if she wants to," pointed out @user89q151tcne. "I love how animals started to demand things. They really just become our children," chimed in @aesjay_

While it was pretty obvious to internet users that Henrietta was on a mission to steal the man from his girlfriend, the woman proved it further with another video. Sharing a glimpse of the man's bedtime routine with the chicken, the girlfriend pointed out how Henrietta was "less thrilled" to have her accompany him. Every night, the couple's hens, Henrietta and Henderella, were pampered with the warmth of their owner in their spacious coop. To gather the hens, the man first sprinkled some fodder on the coop's floor, enticing them to follow him inside as he walked.

Once Henrietta finished pecking at the fodder, the man lifted her into his arms and gave her some cozy nightly cuddles. "She looks mad that I'm here," the girlfriend mentioned in the text overlay. Calmly enjoying the company of her beloved human, the hen prepared to retire for the night. The man also gave a tour of the remarkable coop he built for his birds, showcasing its cool features. Afterward, he gently set Henrietta down, and she walked away slowly. “Good night,” he said kindly, prompting his girlfriend to admire how “wholesome” he was with their pets.
