While the golden retriever got emotional about being left behind, his melancholy didn't last long and people are loving it.
The love that dogs have for their humans has touched the internet's hearts time and again. Recently, one viral video has proved that separation anxiety may not be just a parent-child thing. Turns out, that dogs have it too and they can communicate it in the most human way possible. Wally, a golden retriever who goes by @wally.meets.world on TikTok, has been an internet sensation for his human-like expression of his feelings. Earlier this July, when Wally's parents had to leave him behind to go on a vacation, his adorable reactions garnered much love online.
In the video, the pet parent can be seen consoling Wally who was leaning against her with his head dipped down in sadness. "It's okay, buddy. You're going to have fun at Grandma's, okay?" the dog mom said while caressing Wally's back. The heartbroken golden retriever had to stay behind as his parents were about to go on a five-day vacation without him. While the mom reassured Wally that she would come back on Friday, the pooch didn't even raise his head as waves of melancholy washed over him. He sat on the floor with his head dropped down for a very long time and conveyed his despair through some little growls now and then.
The dog parent explained to her sad pooch that she and her partner would be back in five days. "So we have to sleep there for five sleeps," she said. Wally, who seemed to have sat upright, was still feeling low, staring deeply at something. It was almost as though his mind was heavily occupied with some deep thoughts or sorrow. The pet parent, who was equally emotional about leaving Wally behind, gently caressed the pooch and kept telling him that she was going to miss him too. "To be fair this is how I feel about leaving him too," the dog mom wrote. Over 5.5 million people viewed this video in a couple of weeks and were moved to see a heartbroken Wally.
"I think you should expect a very cold shoulder when you return. I’m sad for poor Wally," said @colocquewisher. "He’s not even my dog but he’s got me canceling my own vacation," quipped @farihahferrari. "I went to Hawaii last year and left my golden with my best friend, someone she loves. When I got back she would not look at me for a week," chimed in @tierneyw21. "The saddest eyes ever. I cry every time I leave my parents' home because my dog watches me leave through the fence," added @meredithnewton5.

While the internet was quite dejected for Wally, the mom posted an update on how his mood was uplifted once Grandma arrived to pick him up. Many social media users suggested the pet parent take Wally with them on vacation or even cancel the vacation. But, turns out, all Wally needed was a little time to let out his gloominess and when Grandma arrived with a new toy, the pooch was on cloud nine again. Wagging his tail and happily showing off his new toy to his parents, Wally was all ready to have a sleepover at Grandma's. This update warmed the internet's heart and over four million views poured in.
@wally.meets.world Replying to @KarenE🌞 he gets soooo excited when his grandma comes to pick him up for his mini vaca. A new toy always helps 😂 #goldenretriever #dogmom #dogdad #ilovemydog #cutedogs #funnydogs ♬ original sound - Wally Dog 🐾
