Surprisingly, when they asked people for help, the pilot announced it, and the entire flight stepped in to their rescue.

Delta Airlines pulled off an impossible stunt and created massive goodwill after a sweet elderly couple lost their passport. Passengers aboard were super invested in their story, rooting for them throughout, leaving several heartbroken when they thought they would have to cancel their vacation. Brent Silkey (@brentsilkey) shared the incident on November 11, mentioning how the entire flight was invested in helping the elderly couple who had planned a five-week vacation in Cape Town.

The couple had checked in, boarded the flight, and realized they didn't have their passport. Silkey said they had it during check-in, but somewhere in between boarding the flight, they lost it. The couple immediately started checking their luggage, their seats, in the bathroom, basically everywhere, but couldn't find it. Surprisingly, when they asked people for help, the pilot announced their plight, and the entire flight stepped in to their rescue. Delta Airlines actually grounded the flight for a long period of time, with other passengers waiting patiently for a miracle. Nobody could find their passport, and so the couple had to get off the flight to avoid risking an almost 15-hour flight. But then a miracle happened. A flight attendant found their passport and screamed at the top of her voice to open the doors so she could get the couple onboard again. The plane was moved back to the jetway to bring the couple back on the plane. While Sikey missed recording everyone's reaction, the couple getting off the plane had left everyone heartbroken, knowing they had planned for such an elaborate vacation. "Delta is phenomenal and the best airline in the world," he said.
Helping others is something we should strive for, but unfortunately, people don't offer help that often. However, a survey by NIQ is enough to kindle some hope in humanity. The study across 17 countries found that 4 out of 10 people help others or volunteer at least once a month or more. Imagine if everyone became like the people on the flight to Cape Town... how beautiful the world would be.
Meanwhile, reacting to the wholesome story, @fattestedtravel commented, "It’s so sweet people didn’t focus more on their own delay. That’s beautiful!" @anniefer_e wrote, "THIS IS THE WORLD WE MUST DEMAND! A world where we all stop to help, even when it’s slightly inconvenient… What an awesome story; thank you for sharing." @nalaluv2012 confessed, "This made me cry. It’s the sweet couple, the patience of the passengers, the compassion everyone felt to help…the attendants' genuine excitement, the pilot going back…all of it."

@debstravelvibe shared, "That’s awesome! I had a flight attendant who helped my grandson, who was having night terrors on the plane. I didn’t know he had them, didn’t know what they were, had never seen them before, and didn’t know what to do. I frantically called the flight attendant. He scooped my grandson up and took him to the back of the plane; I followed. I sat him down, calmly played games with him, and shared food and drinks with him for like the longest time until my grandson got through it. That attendant was the most amazing person ever. Forever grateful." @nataliegrasteit wrote, "I love flight attendants like her. There’s something so endearing about the way she lights up, genuinely excited to find that passport as if it were her own, and she were the one about to head off on a five-week adventure."
