Parenting with a disability can come with unique challenges. Parents with disabilities may need to adapt their parenting style to accommodate physical limitations or find creative solutions to everyday tasks. Cheyenna Clearbrook, who goes by @cheyennaclearbrookxo on TikTok, is a deaf mother and also the cast member of the Netflix series "Deaf U." She raises awareness about the difficulties and challenges faced by Deaf parents while raising children on a day-to-day basis. Recently, she answered a popular question asked by many on how deaf parents realize that their child is crying.

Clearbook revealed a special hearing device she uses every night and has slowly become a part of her routine. She says in the video while holding up the device, "This is the receiver. It connects with vibration and another device." Whenever the baby starts crying, a specialized device is activated and sends a signal to a sensor. And once the signal is received by the sensor, it gets transmitted to the receiver, which triggers a sequence of events. Initially, three loud beeps are emitted to alert the mother of her baby's crying. Following this, the device produces heavy vibrations and a flashing light to ensure the mother is aware of the situation. The effectiveness of this device has been exceptional as it has successfully assisted the mother in promptly attending to her baby's needs.

Throughout the daytime, Clearbrook utilizes a baby monitor like many other parents. However, instead of opting for a standard model, she has invested in a top-of-the-line VTech Baby Monitor that boasts an array of features and capabilities. With this advanced device, Clearbrook can easily monitor her baby's activities and needs, ensuring they remain safe and secure at all times. The VTech Baby Monitor includes an extensive range of functionalities such as audio and video capabilities, motion detection, temperature monitoring and even lullabies to help soothe the baby. She says, "It comes with a camera which is set up in the baby’s bedroom. I LOVE THIS ONE. I use it [at] ALL TIMES."

Apart from the video monitor that provides a view of the baby's crib interior, the monitoring system also incorporates technology capable of detecting the baby's movements and sounds. These actions are promptly displayed on the monitor screen, along with notification lights that alert the mother of any changes. Furthermore, the monitoring system has an additional feature where the color of the notification lights displays on the screen varies according to the intensity of the baby's cries. This color-coded system provides the mother with an immediate indication of her baby's distress level, enabling her to respond accordingly and provide the necessary care promptly.

Moreover, Clearbrook's decision to choose this high-end baby monitor reflects her commitment to providing the best possible care for her child. The advanced features offered by the VTech Baby Monitor enable her to attend to her baby's needs promptly and with ease, giving her peace of mind throughout the day.
