How's Dave Annable handling the SAG strike staying home? Pretty well, it seems, looking at his Instagram stories. The 43-year-old actor shared a hilarious video of his daughter Charlie, 7, giving him a haircut. In the video, which is set to The Beatles' "Help," Annable looks straight at the camera as he pans to show his daughter trimming his hair. "I think all in all, we're handling the strike pretty well so far over here," he hilariously wrote in the caption. Annable and his partner Odette have two daughters, Charlie, 7, and Andi, who is 9 months old.
On May 8, they shared an emotional black-and-white video of themselves revealing to their 6-year-old daughter, Charlie Mae Annable, the exciting news of their second pregnancy. In the clip, Dave hands a box to his daughter and says, "Okay, this one's for you!" before he and Odette assist Charlie in opening the present. Charlie then pulls out a toy with a front-facing ultrasound image of her new sibling. She asks her parents, "Are we going to have a baby?" after realizing what the gift was. Charlie becomes excited when the couple confirms and places her hand on Odette's belly.

In April, Odette discussed her 2019 divorce and subsequent reunion with her husband of nine years. The 37-year-old actress discussed her life's ups and downs on an episode of "Bathroom Chronicles," a podcast hosted by Kimberly Van Der Beek and Peggy Rometo. "The only way that I knew that we would get past it was if I understood how to become a whole person, and it was through a lot of meditation, a lot of sisterhood, a lot of talks about your relationships and what it takes to really become a whole person. So, I took that six months, and we were separated for about six months, to dive in." When they decided to reunite, the couple also made the decision to have another baby. "That's when we tried to have another baby, and it wasn't working. Nothing was happening. When I moved to Texas, I knew that I wanted another baby. I knew that there was another baby in my future," she recalled.

The couple welcomed their second daughter, Andi, in October. They shared the news with an Instagram post. "Odette and I, but mostly Charlie are thrilled to welcome Andersen Lee Annable 'Andi,' " he wrote alongside the photos. "Mom and baby are doing great. Big sister Charlie has not stopped smiling. The next chapter has begun and we couldn't be more grateful."

In 2021, the "Brothers and Sisters" actor shared a photo of himself and his wife giving thumbs up as their daughter smiled from the hospital bed. Annable expressed his emotional reaction to Charlie Mae's injury in the caption. "I remember someone once saying to Odie and I right before we were about to have Charlie that we are about to experience at least 30% more on either side of the emotions scale when (we) have a child. Turns out 30% is closer to 80%," the actor wrote.

"Experienced quite a bit of both yesterday," Annable continued. "I know this thing can function as a ‘journal’ as well. In that case, Charlie Mae and Mommy, the strength both of you showed yesterday is unmatched. Patient and mommy are doing great." He joked: "Daddy, on the other hand, could use a scotch, some hair dye and another adult diaper" and added: "Remember that scene in Indiana Jones when he ‘drank from the wrong cup’ and aged in seconds? Hold my beer…"
