Maryah Greene wanted to surprise her dad by showing him a copy of her first-ever published book - one for kids - on a shelf of a store.
Parents are the biggest supporters of their children and do everything and anything to help them achieve their goals. Similarly, every child dreams of the moment they make their parents proud. Maryah Greene always wanted to capture a moment with her father in which he is extremely proud of her. It is because he is someone who has always encouraged her, no matter what she wanted to do in her life.
She wanted to surprise him by showing him her first-ever published book on the shelf in the store because she knew the jolt of excitement he would feel holding that book in his hands would be out of the world. It was not an easy feat at all, but she achieved it with the help of her mother. After finally getting her book on stands, she took her father to buy it. He began beaming with smiles and tears when he realized what was happening, as reported by Good Morning America.

Maryah Greene has been working for three years to make her dream of becoming a writer a reality. She was writing her debut children's book titled "Good Things," which featured characters dealing with loss through plants. Despite knowing that her father was her biggest supporter, she decided to keep it a secret because she wanted to keep the process under wraps. Her father, who goes by @treferee on Instagram, works as a referee for the WNBA, which means a lot of travel. In Greene's own words, "he is like the mayor of any town he goes in" and therefore, would have shouted out from the rooftops to promote her book.

Greene wanted to keep the process a secret from her father. It was not easy, as they are such a close family, but she managed to achieve it with some aid from her mother. She works as a plant stylist and consultant. She told GMA, "The one I noticed when I spending time with so many of my plant clients is that they had all experienced one common thing and it's that they killed a house plant before." From there, she thought plants could be used as a way to guide children through the feelings of loss and mourning.

Since the book dealt with loss, there were times she felt she should reveal the whole thing to her father. Seeing the tragedy that ensued in the world, it scared her that there could be a world where she doesn't get to share this achievement with her father. But she held on using it as a drive to achieve her dream. Ultimately, the wait was worth it. The moment her father saw her name on the book, he was on the ninth cloud. He hugged her and was as ecstatic, as Greene expected.
Greene recorded his whole reaction on Instagram. Everyone in the comment section could feel the pride the dad felt for his daughter. @trulywellwithtracy pointed out her favorite moment in the whole interaction, "Immediately started crying when he realized it was your book. Congratulations!" @katrinascott was emotional seeing how the whole thing panned out, "Bawling. Congrats! What a beautiful moment with your dad."
