Holidays are meant for spending time with family and friends and capturing those memories to relive in the future. A woman on Tiktok had such precious moments with her mother as they celebrated their last Christmas together. The duo bonded on something that formed a cornerstone of their lives in recent times - Taylor Swift's music. The Tiktok video starts with the daughter dancing and the mother matching her steps but soon, the mother is emotional and just keeps looking at the daughter. Towards the end of the video, the mother can be seen crying and the daughter hugs her with a kiss on her cheek.

The mother-daughter duo was dancing to Taylor Swift's song, "The Best Day." The video is captioned, "I know a lot of people don't understand the Taylor Swift obsession, but her lyrics have gotten me through every season of my life, including this last Christmas with my mama." The Tiktoker also mentions her brother who passed away in the spring.

However, the video went viral with more than 2.3 million views and is captioned, "needed a permanent spot for this moment ❤️" The video left thousands of Tiktok users teary-eyed. A Tiktok user wrote, "Sobbing! This momma is so sad knowing she’s leaving her daughter, you can see it in her eyes. 🥺🥺" Another user said, "Really holding you and your mom in my heart and prayers. Her eyes are the purest most honest form of love. ❤️❤️❤️" A third one wrote, "Mama's face 🥺she feels the pain 🤍 sending you both so much love and amazing more moments like this. Cherish them all🤍" Another one pointed out, "I have NEVER had a TikTok made me cry. This had me sobbing. I am so sorry, praying for you. 🥺"

Kelsey Fry, the daughter, told GMA that her mother, Christie Geraty has been suffering from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for the past 15 years. Talking about why she chose a Taylor Swift song, she said, “Taylor Swift has been in my life for as long as my mom has had cancer.”  “[My mother’s] battle is coming to an end now, but after 15 years, I can honestly say that [Swift’s] music is like therapy for us." She added that the moment was unplanned and "can never be redone."

“She was pulling me closer, and I started hearing the words and I saw the look in her eyes, and it was just pure love,” said Geraty. “It was my baby girl that was singing these beautiful words, and she got me to move, and she got me to smile. She got me to cry. I've never felt so loved.” Fry also shared that they had another loss this year which was losing her brother to cancer in February at the age of 16. “This is our last Christmas together, and this is also our first Christmas without my brother,” said Fry. However, Fry is thankful for the time she is getting to have with her mother. She was diagnosed with the illness when Fry was in eighth grade.

However, now Fry is married with three children and she feels lucky that her children had time with their grandmother. In 2020, her son was diagnosed with a rare liver disease that needed a liver transplant. She believes that having a sick parent prepared her to deal with her son's diagnosis. Through it all, the important lesson that Fry has learned is "to choose joy for the rest of our lives" and that's what her mother has taught her.
