Isabel M. (@isaraveandrips) watched her mother sit at her taco shop, waiting for customers all day long. She was obviously sad, and all she wished for Christmas was for some customers to relish her mother's food. To grow her family business, Isabel posted a TikTok video of her mother sitting at the empty taco shop in December. Much to her surprise, the post blew up overnight, and their shop was packed with customers the following day.

Joy, Isabel's mom, and her aunt started the restaurant together, while she and her fiancé helped with the menu and decor. However, the family business failed to attract customers. Every day, Joy would sit at the empty taco shop, hoping for customers to walk in. "It breaks my heart to see my mom watching the door every day, waiting for a customer to walk in," Isabel confessed. The video went viral overnight, and the next day, the store was hit with a downpour of customers. "Haven’t had time to sit down and update, but let’s just say it was only my mom and me this morning, and we ended with this crew," Isabel said in her video (now deleted). She gave the audience a sneak peek of the kitchen, where people were continuously working to serve the customers. "We're amazed by the support, and we're still taking it all in," read the overlay text.

In her next video, Isabel shared a little detail about their family business. She wrote, "The whole family and some friends came together today to help out and celebrate an amazing day." Moreover, she also showed a pile of receipts and money that they have received due to the inflow of people. "Nothing but happy tears and laughter all day," she added. It was not until Isabel posted on TikTok that the business bloomed, and this itself shows the power of social media. From creating a brand and reaching out to the target audience to maintaining brand value, social media keeps the business running. In fact, Forbes reported a study by Harris Poll for Sprout Social, which found that over 70% of businesses surveyed rely on social media for customer engagement, compared with 61% for email, 27% for TV/radio advertising, and 24% for print ads.

Meanwhile, reacting to Isabel and her mom's journey, @lauren__who commented, "Literally sobbing looking at this, TikTok can be so beautiful sometimes. I wish all the best to you and your momma!" Similarly,  @laura_without_the_u wrote, "I don’t live near you, but this inspired me to find a family-owned taco place in my area this weekend. Support small businesses!"

@cowgirlinhan said, "Your mother is the queen of all queens. Congratulations to her and your family! What a strong and bada** woman!" @swaysdeals commented, "God blessed you in such a beautiful way. And TikTok reminded me of what humanity can do when it wants to be positive." @alostacos wrote, "Love this! I am so happy for you guys! I know being a small business is not easy, but may God continue to bless you! Stopping by to support as well!" @puckstims wrote, "I am just sobbing. You all deserve to feel this relief and pride; watch me drive three hours for some of Ms Joy's cooking."
