Daughter bidding goodbye to join the Navy gets emotional as proud dad chases after her train

From holding her hand as a child to watching her become a strong, independent woman, one father couldn’t hide his emotions as his daughter departed for Navy induction. Giving Amy Curd, known as @amy.curd_ on TikTok, the most heartfelt farewell, her dad chased the train carrying her in a moment that left the internet swooning.

In a widely-shared video of the farewell, Amy is seen leaving her hometown to become a naval officer in 2020. The woman’s family members accompanied her, bidding her a happy farewell. They all seemed very happy thinking about Amy’s upcoming prospects in life. As the train was ready for departure, Amy’s dad, Shaun, appeared to be the happiest. So much so that he began running alongside the train as it started to move, making cheerful expressions.

“No, stop. Why am I crying so much? My dad waved me goodbye when I went off to join the Navy back in 2020,” the caption of the sixteen-second-long footage read. It showed Shaun running along the tracks until the train started moving faster. At the end, he raised his hands to say a final goodbye. Amusingly, the billboard in the background reads, 'Jog on,' echoing the proud dad’s excitement.

“Look how proud and excited he is for me,” Amy wrote while sharing the uplifting clip on social media. Shaun started running like he was doing a marathon, with heartwarming gestures extended towards his daughter. During his sprint, he pointed fingers at Amy, suggesting she was the one in the family on a life-changing journey. The middle-aged dad did not fear any uninvited judgments from other passengers at the station and gave his daughter the farewell she deserved.

Amy was all smiles watching her dad’s sendoff, though she was deeply emotional about leaving.
