The dad decided to call in a family meeting and banned the kids from playing on electronic devices until they sat down and learned how to treat their mom.
The discrimination and disrespect that women face in society takes root at an early age based on the way men see their mothers being treated while growing up. This is why it is extremely important for parents to educate children about the correct way to treat everyone to make sure they carry it with them as grown ups. A father set an example for this when he found his kids mistreating their mother and decided to discipline them in the best way possible. Josiah Hawthorne, who goes by @JosiahHawthorne on X, posted a picture of a note he printed out in bold letters to deliver a clear message to his kids.
"There is no TV watching, tablet playing or Nintendo playing until the kids and daddy have a conversation about how mommy was treated yesterday and what the proper consequences for that should be. We will have a family meeting at 8 a.m. to discuss this and to play our day. Until then, read books and play quietly on non-electronic things," the note written by Hawthorne read. He signed the message off by writing "the management dad." The X community joined in to support the father for his ingenious plan to teach his kids some manners and also reflect on what they did.

@returnofthegoth praised the dad and wrote, "Dude, way to go. I've revoked (or promised to revoke) screen time (and cell phone privileges for the older two) over their behavior and treatment of their mom. I don't even like her that much, but she's still their mom. Stay strong. You're doing great. This is hard." Hawthrone replied to this comment and quipped, "So hard. I'm trying to phrase this less like punishment and more like reparations. They made their mother feel disrespected and unloved yesterday, so as a consequence, they must repair that damage by making her feel loved (via apology letters and cleaning the house)."
Tough but I applaud you for standing up for your wife and demanding the kids treat her well.

@sarahhedeen1 remarked, "So appreciate the support you offer your wife. I'd love to attend said meeting." @JeanniePrinsen added, "Oh boy. Good for you for doing the difficult things. Also, that font." Some other commentators expressed their wish to see an update on the situation from Hawthorne about how his kids are behaving with their mom after their little meeting.
Just like Hawthorne, another dad decided to take the responsibility of teaching his stepdaughter a lesson after she made fun of her step-brother's injury. u/WIBTAsurgery revealed on Reddit that he refused to pay for his daughter's college education because of her behavior. His son was involved in a tragic accident while riding someone else's bike without any assistance and lost parts of his hand and foot. He overheard his stepdaughter talking to her friend and laughing about her step-brother's injuries and how he had slipped into depression.
The fuming dad decided to snatch away her phone, laptop, and car keys as punishment. "I told her she should be ashamed of how she's talking about her brother and he might do something permanent if he heard you talking about him like that," the Reddit post mentioned. When his wife came home, he talked about the incident with her. Even though the wife was proud of her husband for taking a stand for his son, she thought he went "too far to also not pay for her college, since we could easily do so."
