It might get tiring for parents to constantly invent new activities for their kids to keep them engaged. It might be tedious for others, but this dad came up with a brilliant idea where he could rest during the activity and at the same time, his children could have fun. Elkey Zandstra—who goes by @elkeyzandstra on Instagram—shared a video of the dad's ingenious idea and how they implemented it.

The video began with the mother having her hand on her mouth, looking quite stunned and the caption read, "When your husband is in charge of planning an activity for your toddlers. *Wait till the end." At first, Zandstra's husband instructed his wife on what to draw on the back of his white T-shirt. He asked her to make the road from his back to his neck, branching out and across the shoulder. He also asked her to add some trees. The woman responded, "I'll try my best." He also requested her not to draw on his "nice pants."

In the next scene, he was sleeping on the floor with a grey cushion supporting his head. Meanwhile, his wife was drawing a road on the back of his T-shirt using a black marker. She also drew some trees and grass on top and both sides of the road, along with a red car on the road. The overlay text read, "Is that a car or a turtle?" After this, in the next frame, the dad was still lying on the floor while his daughter was running a wooden massage roller through the road drawn on his back. "He turned it into a self-fulfilling activity with that little massage roller," read the text overlay. Toward the end, the child took the roller from his back to his hair. It was such a relaxing experience.

The video is captioned, "What happens when dad is in charge of planning activities for the kids. Gotta appreciate his effort and brilliance." People on the platform loved his idea. @desireepignatelli commented, "I don't care what anyone says, but your husband is an absolute genius." @vegetaianvikingwool also agreed with it, "My dad used to play 'Don't poke the bear,' in which he took a nap with a handful of sticks and we tried to grab the shortest stick without waking him up. Just brilliant." @tamaiyaflorence expressed, "Can I be the one to say how logical dads are? This is great! Haha."

@fuedguerilla shared, "Our grandma used to tell my youngest brother to draw with her finger on her back while she was laying sideways on the couch with back out. And then she would guess his drawings. Except she always got them wrong and he had to try again. And again. And again. She said it was the best rest ever." @agworld81 said, "This is such an amazing idea! I would buy a shirt like this. I'm going to try this. I'm thinking just a white shirt and let kids go crazy with drawing whatever they want on it." @imoneofakind88 wrote, "Love this. What a smart dad. The kids look like they had fun." Though the father didn't put in so much effort to prep for the activity, what matters is his intention to play with the kids despite relaxing during that time.
