Most of us know that self-love and body positivity don't happen in a day. One has to constantly and consciously ingrain the idea in their thoughts and actions. A dad is already setting his toddler up for the right course of action by telling the child what stepping on a scale means. @unsolicitedsarcasm took to TikTok to share her husband's wholesome message for their toddler. The mom captioned the post, "What a joy it is to overhear conversations like this. Dads being dads in the best possible way."

In the video, the dad and child were talking off-camera when the mom recorded their conversation. The text overlay read, "Your toddler sees your husband step on a scale and asks to try it." But before the child stepped on the scale, the dad decided to explain what it really means to weigh oneself. "It just has to do with the literal amount of weight that you have on your body," the man told his toddler. "It has no reflection or anything else about what's going on, right? It doesn't matter your value, it doesn't matter your happiness." The dad calmly explained, "If you are happy, healthy and energized, that is just a number."

The child pointed out that the scale was not working and the dad simply told her that it doesn't work at times. "Hey, does that make sense?" the dad asked to ensure he conveyed his message properly. "So whenever we turn this on, whenever we step on this, it's just an acknowledgment of that weight," he warmly stated. After making sure the child got what he was trying to convey, he appears to have let the child step on the scale. The kid asked him to fix the scale and he did that. "Great!" the man exclaimed. He asked his child, "Cool, right?" Meanwhile, the family's dog cutely popped in, walked around a little and went back.

The video received over 176.3k views and more than 30.8k likes in two days. People took to the comments section to express how the dad's words had healed their inner child. @shelbsrose wrote, "From a woman whose daddy called her fat her whole life and now has two daughters of my own, THIS IS IMPORTANT. Beautiful job Dad." @jessiet93 shared, "I tell my kids (five and 10) the number tells us how much gravity our body has and how 'stuck' to the earth they are. They get excited as they grow bigger and have more gravity and 'strength.'" @thirdlove remarked, "This is so beautiful. What a lucky little one, able to grow up in a world where they know their value has nothing to do with their weight."

@kyandtymom commented, "I am 45 and I have never heard this before stepping on a scale, quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Everyone deserves to hear this, it reset something in me. Thank you." @salmonsushi30 expressed, "Coming from a girl who grew up with a dad who called her fat her whole life and developed a serious eating disorder by 16, thank you. What an angel on earth he is."
