Parents, from the moment they take on the role, put all their focus on making their children's lives better. It is not always the easiest thing to do because of factors like financial conditions but parents still want to push the envelope to give their children the best of everything. This is what Nika's (@nikadiwa on TikTok) father did to fulfill her wishes. Since his daughter wanted to study at a particular college, he did everything in his power to get her into that institution. His income could not support the expenses of the college so he took the route of debt. The loan took over his entire life, but now, years later, fortune has finally smiled on him. He received a heartwarming letter from Biden's administration where they gave him wholesome news.

Seeing his reaction to the wonderful news and knowing all that he had gone through in his life, Nika couldn't control her emotions. She wrote a sweet caption for the video: "He cleaned pools so I could live my dream. This is the best Christmas gift." The video starts with Nika showing an emotional reaction with a hand on her mouth. The overlay text read, "My dad sent me to a college he couldn't afford and just found out the government forgave the entire loan." Then it switched to her father in front of a Christmas tree opening an envelope carefully. He brought out a letter from underneath and began reading it.

The father was so emotional that he touched the letter to his forehead and started crying. Debts are a huge burden on individuals, becoming a hindrance to them living a great life. For many, this debt lasts their entire life, not allowing them to live freely. This was also the story of Nika's dad, but that letter changed his fortune. He never regretted taking that step, as he wanted his daughter to get all the opportunities she desired. This letter was a welcome change that will help him have a more prosperous future.

Education is extremely important if an individual wants to move forward in their life. Unfortunately, it is not a cheap commodity at all in the country. As per the Education Data Initiative, the average cost of college has more than doubled through the 21st century and boasts an annual growth rate of 2% in the last decade. Unsurprisingly, this pushes many people to go the route of debt to fulfill their aspirations as well as those of their close ones. As per Forbes, the college debt in America stands at a whopping $1.75 trillion. Department of Education recently announced that the Biden-Harris Administration will forgive $4.8 billion in student loan debt. This decision has changed the lives of millions, like Nika's father.

The comments section could relate to the father's emotions. @ll_coolt was happy to see the father's fortune and wished the same for themselves, "Loan forgiveness programs exist! I’m a government employee and two years away from qualifying. Happy for your papa!" @neonsugarpop shared their own experience and commented, "I sobbed when I got my PSLF loan forgiveness. Now I am able to do repairs on my house and pass that money on to building tradespeople." @sweetgranolas shared how she dealt with college debt and wrote, "My dad sent me to college and then got into debt and couldn’t afford my sister's college. So between me and her, we completely paid her college off."

Apart from the government, sometimes family members also step up in such harsh situations. This is what happened to Lauren Leal when her younger brother stepped in to pay off her education loan. Anthony Leal played as a junior in Indiana basketball. In 2021, the NCAA changed its policy and allowed student-athletes to monetize their name, image and likeness. He got sponsorship deals and established his own real estate firm. From the money the athlete was able to earn, he decided to help out his elder sister and set some serious sibling goals.
