Many soldiers know that they might end up dying on the battlefield. They also know it would be difficult for their families back home to come to terms with their great sacrifice for the nation. Keeping this in mind, one soldier recorded a final message for his dad, hoping to offer some form of solace in case anything happened to him. A video of the dad hearing the late soldier's last message was shared on TikTok by @fearbuck0 and it has left the internet in tears.

The dad is visibly emotional as the voice recording starts: "Hey Dad, if you are hearing this message then it must mean that I wasn't able to make it back. My work as a soldier has asked the greatest sacrifice of me." The dad, who was holding back until now, broke down into tears upon hearing his son's voice. "I am sending this message with the hope that it might offer you some solace, some understanding, despite the pain that might be burdening your heart," the soldier expressed. He admitted that there was something that he had been wanting to share and kept forgetting. "Dad, I love you," the man voiced out.

"Never did I say it enough while I had the chance," the soldier said in his message as the grieving father continued wiping his tears. "But it is something that has always resonated in my heart." He also reminisced fond memories that he had shared with his father. "I remember how we used to camp out in the backyard," the son recalled. "I was barely bigger than the tent at that time." The fallen soldier went on to address a poignant thing that the dad had once pointed out to him. "You would point out the stars. You always told me, there were brave soldiers from a far-off world always shining down on us." The emotional dad nodded along with the message.

"It was those nights that shaped my dreams to serve our beloved country," the son said, adding that he hoped his message would bring strength to his dad. "Know this: if I could, I would have fought 100 more battles just to get back home to you. But unfortunately, life sometimes has plans," the son told his heartbroken dad. "So please Dad don't mourn me, celebrate me." The man pointed out, "I lived a life of honor. I braved challenges and I got a chance to love you. You are my hero and if I am remembered as half the man that you are then my life has been a rousing success." The soldier signed off but not before saying, "One more time and forever, I love you."
