Man can not control his tears as he gets emotional when his stepdaughter tells him the name of her son.
Blood relations do not matter if a relationship is fostered with care and commitment. Chloe Benton–who goes by @chloewbenton on TikTok–agrees with this assertion wholeheartedly due to her relationship with her stepfather John. He responded with understanding when she struggled with bringing him into her life. Even though not related by blood, the stepfather did everything and beyond to establish a bond with Benton. To honor him for his resilience and love, Benton made a wonderful gesture for him just after giving birth to her son. John was pleasantly taken aback and could not control his tears.
The video starts with the newborn son on John's lap. He was visibly emotional, holding such a precious being in his hands. He said in tears, "He feels so tiny. He's right over here." It is when the daughter asks him to see the baby's name. In the text overlay, she informed how the man raised her from the age of 11 and provided for her without hesitation, even when she was hostile towards him. John was so involved with the baby that he did not realize for the first few seconds what his daughter had done. He said, "What a name, John. Where did you come up with it?" Things started to click when he was informed, "She named him after you."
John could not believe his ears. He could not fathom he was being honored in such a heartfelt manner. The father could only muster up, "Thank you. It's a big honor." After that, he began to appreciate his namesake. He lovingly uttered, "He's such a beautiful baby. John Whitman. John Whitman. JWB. That's a good initial. JW. What are you up to, JW? Beautiful baby. So pretty." He was really touched by the gesture and ended with saying "Thank you" to everyone who had a part in it.
The comment section loved the gesture and the father's reaction. @warmlyanne got emotional reading about the father's perseverance and wrote, "That ain't a step-dad. That's a DAD. He is so lovely; what a great man to name your son after." @mamas828_ commented on how loving the father was with his grandson, "He just met his best buddy. Those two will have the most precious relationship." @koko951_ said, "I know you literally had him yesterday, but I need 3 years of Big John and Little John content right now!"

In John's case, his love inspired his daughter to name her son after him. In Connie Chung's case, her lifelong work led to an entire generation of Asian American girls being named after her. A New York Times Essay explains this profound impact, "Asian American families from the late 1970s through the mid-'90s—mostly Chinese, all new immigrants—had considered the futures of their newborn daughters and, inspired by one of the few familiar faces on their TVs, signed their own wishes, hopes and ambitions onto countless birth certificates in the form of a single name: Connie." The journalist feels very proud and elated by this achievement. A viral video uploaded by u/jcepiano shows her excitement at meeting young journalists sharing her name.
