Dad has the most heart-melting reaction after son tells him he got signed by Washington Nationals

Parents often find joy and pride in the littlest to the greatest achievements their kids make. Whether it’s being able to wear shoes or finding their partner and starting a family, parents are always standing by their kids, supporting them and cheering them on. The joy on their faces to know their kids have succeeded is beyond measure and cannot be captured in words. Robert Anthony Cruz (@coach.rac) shared a video on TikTok revealing the delightful reaction his dad had to his heartwarming surprise at one of his achievements. The man, who is a great baseball player, has gone viral for giving his dad an astonishing surprise. Robert was recently signed by the Washington Nationals as a coach.

He decided to break the good news to his dad in a pleasant way. He decided to surprise him at work to experience his reaction in person. As he walked into his dad’s workplace, a few colleagues who knew about his accomplishment wished him well. As he headed over to find his dad, he couldn’t contain the joy and excitement. “Ron, there’s someone here to see you,” the dad’s colleagues yelled in excitement to see the surprise unfold. Robert walked into different rooms and through corridors until he figured out where his dad was. Ron walked into the room where his dad was with the Washington Nationals cap on his head. He walked in casually and said, “Hey, what’s up?” His dad greeted him too, but he failed to see the cap.

Robert took out another Washington Nationals cap from his pocket and walked over to his dad. “What happened?” the dad asked, still not realizing what the cap read. Robert gave him a relieving nod and his dad let out the biggest smile. “Oh my gosh! Congratulations, son!” he said, getting in to give his son a big hug. As Robert held on to his dad, his dad got emotional and began to cry with joy and pride. It was clear that he was simply grateful and proud of his boy’s achievement. He looked over at Robert with tears in his eyes and found his son putting the cap on his head. “Are you kidding me?” he asked with tears still flowing. “That’s awesome. I’m proud of you,” the dad said.

“My dad is a gem. Hardest worker I know,” Robert said. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Robert also revealed in the caption of his video, "My name wasn’t called in the draft, but I got a surprise free agent contract." Receiving over 14 million views, the video showing the special moment Robert and his dad shared has left people awestruck. @kellysalpeter said, “Congratulations!
