Dad and son hilariously highlight their generational gap by answering simple questions

With the drastic progress the world has made, a 25-year generational gap does seem like a lot. This father-son duo showed proof of the same.

The world has developed and made significant changes over the many decades. With these changes, several people from different generations have also learned and figured out vivid lifestyles that vary from the previous times. Chelsea Bare—who goes by @chelseabare on TikTok—shared a video pointing out these differences by recording her son and husband mimicking different actions. The mom followed the popular trend where different generations share what basic actions were like in their time, highlighting the contrasting and unique habits and lifestyles. The dad stood on one side of a door while the son was on the other side and both were unable to see each other.

The mom then just asked questions to which the dad and son duo had to share what their actions would look like. First, she asked them, “How would you roll down a car window?” The dad immediately began depicting himself rolling down the window manually while the son effortlessly pretended to press a button, indicating that he could automatically put down the windows with the same. “How would you answer the phone?” the mom asked. The dad immediately stuck out his fingers to create a telephone sort of impression, a typical 90s thing to do and the young boy again pretended to press a button on a sleek smartphone and answered.

On being questioned on how each would hang up the phone, the dad again put down his hand representing the telephone while the boy again pressed a button. “How do you take a picture?” the mom asked. The dad pulled out his impression of a camera and pretended to hold it with both hands, depicted clicking a picture with the camera. The boy, on the other hand, was so done with the questions because they somehow hilariously required him to simply press a button and nothing more. For this question as well, he only pretended to use his palm as the screen of his smartphone and pressed a button indicating that he was clicking a picture.

On asking how one dials a phone, it was relieving to see that both generations had more or less a similar impression. Lastly, the mom asked, “How do you make a heart with your hands?” The dad went all out and began drawing a huge heart with his fingers, while the boy simply used 4 fingers only to create a very GenZ-shaped heart. The 25-year gap surely held several differences and it was hilariously amazing to see how much had changed over the years in just a few seconds. Every millennial, boomer and older generation could relate to the nostalgia the dad bought with his impressions and were quite delighted at the new and modern depictions.

However, even certain Gen Zs argued that they were raised with some older methods and are proud to stick by the same. @sonos.fx said, “Almost like they grew up with different things.” @mexidamian remarked, “This generation has to deal with newer and advanced technology.” @benedictine_donofrio said, “The next generation will just have their fingers in the air.”
