Entitled customers have long been a challenge for retail workers, but social media now provides a stage to highlight their worst behavior. Sometimes, these customers are so arrogant that they can’t even distinguish between an employee and a fellow shopper wearing a uniform. This kind of confusion set the stage for a hilarious story shared by Reddit user u/Own_Row_9101.

The entitled woman spotted a shopper who happened to be wearing a uniform and, in her mind, that meant he was there to help. Despite the clear differences between his Kroger uniform and the store's staff attire, she insisted on asking him for assistance. Not wanting to make a scene, he politely directed her to the clothing section and went back to his own shopping.

But the woman soon returned, even more determined, and demanded that he unlock the changing rooms for her. Things take a hilarious turn when the man, annoyed by her aggressive attitude, snapped back saying, “NO! Now go away and leave me alone.”

But she came back a few minutes later with the store manager and demanded an apology. "I picked up a few items and started towards the check out when I got ambushed by this same woman who now has the store manager in tow. She is demanding I apologize to her," he wrote in his post. The manager, who had probably seen his fair share of customer meltdowns, looked at him and asked, “Would you like to apologize to this customer?” That's when the man promptly responded, “What for? She’s rude, obnoxious, and irritating as hell. No, I don’t want to apologize.”

The frustrated woman screamed at the top of her lungs, “I’ve never been so humiliated in all my life. You need to fire him now!” The manager, who by this point was probably wondering how he ended up in this bizarre situation, calmly replied, “Well, ma’am, I am not able to do that.” The entitled woman, still blinded by her rage, asked him, “And just why the hell not?” But before the manager could respond, the individual responded by saying, “Obviously she isn’t smart enough to figure out I don’t work here. So save us both some time and fire me, then maybe she will shut up and go away.”

Without missing a beat, the manager said, “You’re FIRED!” Immediately after being "fired", the individual whispered to the lady, “Are you happy now, ma’am? That’s the third time he’s fired me this week. Have a nice day. Thanks for shopping at Smith’s Food & Drug,” before walking away calmly leaving the entitled person angry.

As he walked to the register, the manager still shaking his head shouted out, "See you tomorrow?" To this the man answered without hesitation, "Yea, I have to get hay and alfalfa." All this while, the woman who realized she'd been completely outsmarted, dropped the jeans and stormed out of the store, regretting every decision that led her there.

Readers, who had a good laugh while reading this story, also chimed in with their takes. "The fact that she kept singling you out every time she wanted something rather than ask another employee is mind-boggling. Some people are denser than a black hole, I swear!" said u/SheWhoLovesToDraw. "That was probably one of the greatest I don't work here stories I have read yet! Well done!!!" commented u/No-Buyer9229.
