Tom took to Google Reviews and shared a story that inspired him to give a 5-star rating to Chili's Grill & Bar. The customer who visited the restaurant with his girlfriend was left heartbroken when she dumped him in the booth by the window. However, a waiter named Terry decided to make his day by preparing the best order and sharing a few words that brightened his day.  After his meal, the waiter booked an Uber for the customer and made sure he reached home safely, going out of his way to track the customer's emotional well-being. Sharing the screenshot of the post, Tom's review read, "Thought my night was over until Terry (absolute legend waiter) slid me my order of mozzarella sticks and said, 'Don't worry, buddy, she doesn't deserve you or your mozzarella sticks'. I then proceeded to get absolutely hammered on Presidente Margaritas. After, Terry called me an Uber. 5 stars. Would get heartbroken here again," Tom wrote. The post had everyone wishing to be rescued similarly on their toughest days.

In a 2019 study by Ji Youn Jeong, Jungkun Park and Hyowon Hyun, the researchers examined customer expectations and satisfaction over services with emotional factors. The study found that when customers expect emotional warmth or friendliness from service staff, it improves their perception of service quality and overall satisfaction. By recognizing the customer's situation and giving him a temporary relief from his heartbreaking moment, the waiter not only made the customer's day but also strengthened others' trust in the restaurant. In fact, people going through tough times in public may find it hard or embarrassing to ask for help, but it is these moments when a stranger's kindness is most needed. The man probably felt humiliated and would have descended into an unhealthy spiral had Terry, the best waiter, not interrupted his bad day.

Soon after the post went viral, many users shared their thoughts on the waiter's service. u/SubjectMeringue3613 wrote, "Terry sees heartbreak. Terry becomes a gentleman. Terry is a good man." u/01shanaynay01 shared, "This happened to me once on Valentine's Day at the bar of my favorite sushi place. The bartender bought me a few of my favorite drinks and called me an Uber. Nice man." u/Hotdog_disposal_unit commented, "Everyone needs a Terry in their life, making the bad decisions feel less bad."
