Finishing a marathon is always an achievement and the crowd at the event ensured every participant
As Runners World puts it, the New York Marathon has over the years become the world's largest race. Its popularity is spread all across the globe, inviting runners from all corners for a shot at everlasting glory. As a result, it has become extremely competitive by nature, which sometimes causes individuals to lose focus on the actual essence of the marathon. The marathon celebrates the city and its spirit. New York, at its very core, is about people coming together from different backgrounds and living in a shared existence. @mickmicknyc captured the celebration of this spirit in their video, where the entire city is seen joining in and celebrating the arrival of the last 10 runners in the marathon.
The 2023 TCS New York City Marathon took place on 5th November, covering almost 26 miles of the entire city. The marathon covered all the iconic locations of the city, such as Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. The video captured the last 10 people crossing the finishing line and being welcomed with a huge round of applause by everyone. It begins with the 10th runner crossing the finishing line with a beaming smile, clapping her hands and rejoicing in the cheers. She was followed by a man wrapped in an emergency blanket. These blankets help to give individuals the heat they require after they turn cold due to their run.
The next to cross the finishing line was a woman sporting some suave black glasses, joyously giving claps to everyone. Thereafter came a duo, hand in hand, evidently exhausted by the entire run. But their embrace at the end indicated their satisfaction at completing the race. Thereafter came a woman with infectious joy on her face, spreading it to everyone while crossing the coveted line. The next one did not hide the tiredness due to the race or the happiness she felt on wearing the medal.

The fourth-last runner proved that age is no bar, as she finished the entire run with no hint of weariness and interacted with everyone at the finish line. The following runner had the Disney spirit with her as she put on Mikey Mouse ears on her 26-mile journey, with embraces all around. The second-last to arrive were a duo who proudly showed their achievement hand in hand, looking at the sky. The last runner was clearly completely exhausted at the finish line, but everyone around her enveloped her with applause, putting an end to this global event.
The comment section also joined in this celebration applauding the never-give-up attitude of the runners. @remi100fanmi commended, "No matter the clock, running 42 km is an achievement, congrats!" @jessejojames95 shared her own experiences and wrote, "I used to volunteer here and the energy is insane! Love that the last people are celebrated this much, they worked so hard!" @notalexq loved the way everyone came together in the event and said, "This makes me so happy. Such an amazing accomplishment. Everyone who participated should feel so proud!"
