7 passengers notified a flight attendant that a man in row 20 was taking photos and videos of her. The truth left everyone relieved

Flight attendant Lindy Hart Majnaric (@lindymaj) became an unwilling target of passengers’ attention during a flight to Salida. While helping passengers stow their carry-on bags and communicating with the crew over the intercom, several travelers rushed to warn her that a man in Row 20 was recording her on his phone. In an August 3, 2026, Instagram footage, Majnaric revealed that the creepy man was none other than her husband. What started as a spooky episode ended on a light-hearted note as the passengers were relieved. Her video has since been viewed more than 6 million times.

A sweet confusion

The incident happened during Majnaric's final year as a flight attendant. Not one, not two, but seven passengers continuously notified her that this strange man was recording her on his phone. A grin materialized on her face, and although she was “grateful for their situational awareness and willingness” to notify her, she couldn’t help but laugh. The footage shows her walking to the man’s seat, chuckling, and telling him, “You are causing problems.” Majnaric said that she thanked each and explained that the man was actually her husband; the concerned passengers laughed in relief.

Consent is important

While Majnaric's situation turned out to be a harmless misunderstanding, many Americans are uncomfortable with strangers filming them in public. A 2023 YouGov survey of more than 32,000 U.S. adults found that 48% believe it should be illegal for people to film and share content of strangers in public on social media without their consent, while only 28% said it should be legal. The findings reflect why several passengers felt it was important to alert the flight attendant after seeing a man repeatedly recording her.

Green flags everywhere

Viewers noted that the footage initially sent a creep down their spines, especially with the FBI-themed suspense music the flight attendant used in the background. @seokjinnie.arwa commented, “I got scared for a second.” @mitchellpardo remarked, “Legit hilarious.” @rsnyder2001 shared, “I did the same thing the first time I was on a flight when my wife was working. Took me a minute to figure out why I was getting so many dirty looks from other passengers.”
