The kid pulled off an 'adorable heist' of her neighbor’s husky but made sure to leave behind a clever replacement.
A 7-year-old girl who hails from Massachusetts managed to pull off a “heist” by cleverly taking away her neighbor’s giant husky. Olivia Myers also found a “top-notch” replacement for the dog she was taking. However, to her bad luck, the kid was caught by her neighbor Amanda Sullivan, who posted about it on her dog's TikTok, SD Corporal Gunnar (@corporalgunnar). The TikTok video shows the girl convincing the canine to go on a 'play date,' according to the pet’s mom.
In what has been described as “committing a crime of the heart,” the girl stole the dog with an innocent plot twist. The video of the heist starts with a retired service dog named SD Corporal Gunnar sitting in a Gloucester neighborhood, minding his own business. Myers walks towards the 11-year-old canine with a stuffed husky in her hand, and as she begins to replace his collar, the dog appears clueless about what’s happening.
After swapping his collar—which read “Mamas Boy”—with another that stated "Olivia’s Boy," the little one dropped her plush toy beside him. She then ran away from the garden in the hope that Gunnar would follow her. Instead, the adorable canine looks confused as he tries to get a peek at his owner, but Myers remains persistent.
“Gunnar was so conflicted whether he should actually go with her or wait for me to come outside like I always do,” the text overlay at this point of the footage states, aptly explaining the dog’s dilemma. When there are no signs of his mom, Gunnar, charmed by Myers, chooses to follow her. Both of them leave behind the soft toy with Gunnar’s original collar placed on it.
Sharing the video on social media, Sullivan wrote in the caption: “She stole my dog in broad daylight! Can you believe that? When your 7-year-old neighbor just wants a playdate with her dog bestie, she steals him and leaves behind a replacement.” The one-minute-fifty-six-second footage does not end here, as the dog owner catches the kid playing with Gunnar in the backyard. The video creator asked Myers, “Did you steal my dog? Did you change his collar?” to which the latter responded with an innocent smile. "I can't say that you can call it 'stealing' when he goes willingly," TODAY quoted Sullivan as saying, who revealed to the outlet that Myers went on to "steal" her dog despite being a dog parent herself.
The reel ends with the owner finally getting her hands on Gunnar’s replacement, a stuffed husky, sparking a laughter riot among its viewers. @brendaburns65 commented, “This made my morning,” with smiley emojis. Adding to it, @joymayfair1 said, “This is her first theft. They say you can always trace someone's modus operandi to their first crime.” Taking the dog’s side, @plutonium2022 wrote, “In his (Gunnar’s) defense, he called you several times.” “I feel like she (Myers) offered a fair trade,” @wnorrod remarked. When @lynnmarie1125 asked, "She’s slick for a 7-year-old?" Gunnar's mom replied by saying: "You have no idea—she’s too smart for her own good."
