With all the unrest going on around the world, kindness and peace seem like distant dreams. Being void of negativity is a dream, but that doesn't mean we cannot create our own silver linings in the midst of grief and sorrow. A couple in Wexford, Ireland, chose to be the silver lining in the lives of a group of disabled friends who were having a fun evening at Robs Ranch House. According to the Facebook page of the restaurant, the group of disabled friends had come all the way from Waterford, almost an hour away from the restaurant. The evening was a merry one; everyone was enjoying their meals and their time at the restaurant.

A couple who were seated close to the group of friends finished their meal and got up to leave. However, before exiting, they walked up to the staff and told them that “they wanted to pay the bill for that group also." Upon hearing this, the staff member informed the couple that the group’s bill was more than €200. The couple responded with a smile and said, “That’s fine, we still want to pay.” They paid the bills and left quietly, without any expectations or recognition in return. Later, when the staff informed the group of friends that the stranger couple had paid for their meal, their faces lit up and they were “nearly in tears." They shared with the staff, “We go out regularly together and the next time we are out, we are going to pay for someone's meal to pass on the kindness we've received today."

The staff of Robs Ranch House concluded their Facebook post by saying, "If that couple wants to come forward, Robs Ranch House would like to treat them to a meal on us.” This small but extremely significant gesture on the part of the couple has sent out a strong message for the world to learn from.

The comment section of the post had a staff member, Sarah Barriscale, who was present at the restaurant and said, “Hello, I was one of the staff members with this amazing group and we just wanted to say again a massive thank you to that very kind and generous couple. We were all shocked and so thankful. We can't wait to pay it forward. Also a big thank you to the staff at Robs Ranch House Ireland, as their hospitality was amazing and made the meal so enjoyable and fun. Thank you again."

Another relative of one of the friends from the group, Andrea Reddy, commented and shared, “My brother-in-law just told me this story today as his daughter is in the picture and my god this brought a tear to my eyes. What wonderful people that couple are. I can't thank them enough, they really don't know what they did with their kindness.”
