Couple who moved into new home discovers a handwritten note from former owners and it's so wholesome

Buying a house is a big moment in a person's life. This is exactly what happened to Laura Rudd and her husband when they purchased their first house. However, the moment got extra special when they discovered a note from the previous owners. Rudd shared a post on TikTok where she shared a photo of the note. The post has blown up with 1.9 million views and 113.6K likes on the social media platform. 

The first photo shows Rudd and her husband happily standing in front of their new home, with the text overlay, "Us buying our first home, arriving to a note from the previous family." She shared the note in the second slide, which is heartwarmingly titled, "Welcome to your new home." The previous owners wrote, "This house has been our home since the mid-50s and in that time, Mum and Dad raised all of us children in these four walls. And my, it was often a tight fit!" They detailed the happiness and love experienced in the house over the years.

However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they had to sell the house. The owners chose not to take this setback too seriously and remarked that the thing they remembered the most was the laughter they shared in the house. They really had a lot of fun moments with family, friends and relatives in their home, which led them to hope that the couple would have the same experience once they moved in. At the end of the letter, they wrote, "Sincerely wish you all the happiness this wonderful house has to offer, not to mention the stunning outlook and view." 

People found the note heartwarming. @darren_g_ commented, "Imagine every 50 to 60 years, each family wrote a letter to the next and it just kept going." @toptobottom159 shared, "This happened to us. The elderly parents passed and we bought it from the daughters. It was their childhood home. A build had put a higher offer in than us, but they refused his offer and took ours." Another individual, @jo.caffers, expressed, "This brought a tear to my eye. The end of an era is someone else's new beginning. How truly wonderful. Wishing you all the best in your new home."

A home can mean a lot of things to a family. This could be the reason an elderly couple left a special note for the newly married couple that they were selling their home to after three decades. The experience was shared on Reddit. The caption read, "Previous homeowners left a note to the young, newlywed couple who purchased their home." In the note, the couple wrote, "We arrived here in our 50s and left in our 80s. I hope you also have a good run! The house is blessed with 'good karma' - so we pass it on to you! Congrats!" The note garnered a whole lot of love in the comments section. Many wished their "home purchase was like that."
