The couple also shared glimpses of the second secret room in their house and it is 'less creepy.'
Buying a house can be a complicated and taxing affair with all the documents and procedures that one has to go through. Even after one moves in, it takes time to get settled in and familiarize oneself with the house and whatever little quirks it may have. A TikTok couple was in for a bit of a bigger amusement when they discovered that the home they had been living in for four years had a secret room. The video they posted has gained a lot of traction on the platform, with 891K views and 1422 comments. The caption reads, "Unedited first views of the hidden room."
The clip begins with the wife recording the husband opening up a passage to a hidden room. "Keep opening," the woman states as her husband cautiously opens the covered part to reveal a big white door. They both venture into the room and turn the light on. The woman shares, "We have never seen this in our house and we have lived here for four years." She speculates that it could have been built by the original owners as a bomb shelter.
The wife has her suspicions about why there is a gap in the floor in that area and now she has definitive proof that there was indeed a room. The couple continues to explore the room, and the man eagerly picks up a mat on the floor, expecting to see one more hidden door. However, there is nothing else beneath it. The wife was shocked that the people who sold them the house did not tell them about this room.
They look around and observe that there is rust on the floor. The wife also seemed to think that the previous owners used the room as a gun locker. The video ends with the husband hilariously remarking how they could potentially turn it into a guest room for his mother-in-law to stay in. People who watched the video were more horrified seeing the room and its contents and they shared suggestions in the comments section. Many seemed to think that the room was quite shady and had been used for something illegal.

@making.messes said, "My curiosity would need to shine a black light in that room, but my over-anxious imagination says lock it up forever!" Another individual, @lasohndalharris, expressed, "I would have never told anyone. Perfect place to hide if you were in danger or something. I don't get why people expose the secret rooms they have."
@ItsSunnyUphere inquired how the family had never noticed the existence of the room after having lived in the house for four years. So, the woman posted a follow-up video where she clarified how there was a shelf pushed up against the wall, which meant that they had very little chance of finding it. The husband demonstrates how the room opens up and goes in. His wife hilariously runs to pretend to lock him up. The caption reads, "I noticed once the wall looked weird under the right-hand bookcase. I thought he was lazy and running short on drywall."
The woman also shared glimpses of one more secret room in the attic of their house. But this one is "less creepy," in her words. The couple's kids have been using that space as their "playroom."
