The rising prices and inflation have people sweating at the thought of shopping, eating out, or other expenses. However, the luxuries of life shouldn’t be shunned due to economic problems. People are coming up with hacks to enjoy dining out while spending smartly. Hadassah Moore (@hadassahmoore99) did the same with her husband when the couple went out to eat at a restaurant. The couple shared that they follow one strict hack whenever they go out to eat and it’s easy and hassle-free. People are debating that the practice may be out of restaurant etiquette. However, some agree that it is a foolproof idea that works effortlessly.

The woman shared a glimpse of her with her husband out at a restaurant with the caption, “Gotta save money somehow.” She revealed via text overlay that she has one “money-saving tactic.” “Our money-saving tactic is sharing one refillable drink when we go out.” The basic idea is that the couple would have the same drink in one glass or mug as one order but because it is refillable, the two would have enough to drink. Moore also captured her husband and herself drinking from one cup to demonstrate what she meant. While her video received over 70k likes, many people had contrasting opinions about her tactic.

Several people shared their money-saving tactics as well. @sumhotstuff joked, “Our money-saving tactic is getting water.” @laura.cho suggested, “Pro tip: Get water and carry flavored packets or Mio.” @b_pickett said, “Did this as a teenager and got shouted at but maybe I’ll try now.” @ashleykrobertson said, “We just started getting our kids two sprites so we just order water and have sips from theirs.” Several people agreed splitting a refillable drink is indeed a money-saving hack. Few complained about the exceedingly high prices for sodas and drinks and how it’s unnecessary.

@justcatsandgardening said, “With the price of sodas nowadays, we do the same! $4 for a soda is insane!” @danielleartico said, “We started doing this too! It’s crazy when 2 pops add $8 to your bill.” @elizabethgrace17 who works at a restaurant also agreed saying, “The restaurant I work at charges $4 a soda and I’m floored that people are willing to pay that.” @rajae_ too agreed but had a different hysterical reason saying, “We do this because I’m pregnant and I get water but man I need a few sips of Dr. Pepper.” @candicesmith2993 said, “My husband and I do this not to save money but because I take 2 or 3 sips for the whole meal anyway.”

On the other hand, some people couldn’t fathom sharing a drink, even if it were to save money. Here too, people had their reasons. @user_avocadotoast said, “We can never decide on the same drink. I’m a strawberry lemonade girl and he’s a coke guy.” @lindseykay_ said, “We used to do this but my husband loves lemon in his sweet tea and I hate it so we can’t do this anymore.” @mika.iv said, “At our restaurant, you can’t do this. Waiters are changed to watch you and if you do, then your pay double.”
