A couple chose to make their wedding ceremony extra special by having it in front of Chicago's famous rat hole.
Certain places in cities have unique characteristics that cause them to become immensely popular among people. One such spot in Chicago is a hole that is eerily shaped like a rat. An individual on X, who goes by @WinslowDumaine, posted a photo of the rat-hole getting 5.1 million views and 136K likes on the social media platform. The post gained so much acclaim that Raj Sarathy (@realrajmahal) decided to have his wedding there.

The short clip of the ceremony at the rat hole has 1.1 million views and 1907 comments. It is hilariously captioned, "My dream wedding at the Rat Hole." Viewers get to see a lot of decorations around the spot, including balloons and some candles. Sarathy and his husband can be seen standing under an arch of balloons right next to the famed rat hole.
The officiant kicks off the ceremony by saying, "We are gathered here today to marry man and man in front of the honorable Chicago rat-hole." Sarathy and his future husband hilariously gesture to the rat as the officiant finishes saying this. The officiant allows the grooms to share a kiss as a married couple and the crowd cheers for them. The couple are evidently very happy with their decision to make their ceremony memorable by choosing an unconventional but memorable spot for the ceremony.
People loved the video and shared their own thoughts about the unique rat-hole in the comments section. @namastanxiety commented, "I explained the rat hole to my boyfriend today. We are in Seattle. He stared at me for longer than I'm comfortable admitting." @neondemon319 shared, "I'm a 31-year-old female and find the idea of having a traditional wedding embarrassing. But this would make me so comfortable and happy."
Another thing that seems to be trending is recreating wedding traditions. What makes it even more fun and unique is when they are done with a twist. Rosie Joyce, who got married the previous year, went viral for sharing a picture of her parents enacting a wedding tradition where they swapped each other's outfits. Joyce decided to follow along with her parents' tradition and did the same thing with her husband on their special day.
The video that she posted has got 2.6 million likes and 3798 comments on the platform. The post is captioned, "I grew up obsessed with these photos! How did we do? My poor dress." In the video, we get to see her husband walk out in a wonderful white gown, holding a beer snuggly wrapped in a koozie. Joyce adorned a sleek tuxedo with a pair of bright white Gucci clogs. She also had a fruity White Claw and drop earring to go with her outfit.
They wanted to document the day as much as they could, so they snapped many photos. One photo was taken in black and white, while one had Joyce's mother in it. A wedding recovery day is usually when a newly married couple takes some time off after the wedding to relax. Different couples do it in varying ways. Some choose to spend their day alone while others have a small gathering with drinks.
