Couple makes an unusual and awkward discovery after opening a bottle found at the beach

Whenever we visit the beach, we often find numerous objects carried by the waves from distant places. Sometimes, it can be a bunch of garbage and other times, if you are fortunate enough, you can find a map to a hidden treasure in a bottle or at least that's what this couple might have thought initially. Rick and Crystal—who goes by @auslapourway on TikTok—ended up stumbling on a glass bottle on the shore of a beach.

However, never in their wildest dreams, the couple have imagined what lies inside the stray bottle. They started recording the moment they found it and the viral video continued until the couple revealed what was inside the mysterious bottle. "We're seeing a bottle here. It looks like it's got a message in it," Rick can be heard saying at the beginning of the video. He quickly fished the bottle from the ocean and passed it to Crystal.

She struggled a bit at first while trying to undo the cap of the clear glass bottle. Crystal questioned Rick on how are they supposed to get the piece of paper that was rolled inside out of the bottle. Neither of them could get it out of the bottle, so Rick continued to film their video with one hand while shaking out the contents into the ocean. Despite clearing out the dust from the bottle, they failed to extract the folded paper.

That is when Crystal came up with an idea. She tried to read the paper inside the bottle through the dirty glass. The surprise they found jotted on the paper was far from a love letter or a treasure map. "'Here lies...' Oh! They're ashes! Oh no!" Crystal exclaimed. "Here lies the ashes of Geoffrey. If found, please throw the bottle into outgoing tide so I can continue my journey." Rick captured a shocked Crystal holding the bottle and Rick saying "Oops" behind the camera before the video concluded.

Fellow TikTok users were stunned at what the Aussie couple had discovered because no one really imagined the bottle to contain the ashes of a deceased person. @fieldoflemons wondered, "Okay, but why would you put a message in a bottle and not think someone would open it?" @senpairoshi doubted, "I think that's not even Geoff. Someone has done the same thing and put sand in cause they didn't know what to do." @abbieebabyy joked, "Insane to me that Geoff was probably walking around a few months ago and now he's been literally spilled onto the sand by strangers."

@recoveryafterstroke suggested, "Just put some sand back in there. And chuck it back in. No one will ever know." To this comment, Crystal and Rick replied that they did "exactly that and tried to get most of it into the bottle and they feel bad for Geoff." @therealrongonui added, "There are no coincidences in life. Geoffrey's meant to be there and you 2 were meant to place him there. His journey has now been fulfilled."

It will remain a mystery if Geoffrey's trip will be fulfilled or not, but since the contents of the bottle were dumpled out already, it seems the poor soul won't be able to continue his afterlife journey in a bottle anymore.
