A lot of people regularly win lotteries however only the ones who have a kind heart want to use it for the benefit of others. A couple who won around $1,250,000 on the National Lottery decided to help out Alder Hey Children's Hospital which once saved their son's life, reports Indy100. Along with this couple, 21 other lottery winners last year in November donated their money to the hospital.

Ceri Roscoe-Roberts is grateful for what the hospital did for their youngest son. His pushchair had collapsed with him inside. She said, "Without Alder Hey, my youngest would not be here today," per Wales Online. Her son is 16 now. She added that the hospital does some great work and she feels honored that she could give it back in terms of time and contribution to the hospital which will eventually be useful for thousands of people.

The group not only raised around $40,000,000 but also made sure that they spent time on-site. They planted a border alongside a new walkway around the Alder Centre bereavement unit. Reportedly, the hospital has been going through a multi-million-pound redevelopment to build a world-class healthcare campus where all aspects of children's health would be taken care of.

Patricia Gill with her husband won around $1,250,000 on Euromillions in 2015 and also donated to the cause. She said that it is amazing that they can be part of this building project which is located at a "prestigious location not only in the UK but across Europe." “Everyone knows about Alder Hey and the tremendous life-saving work that the hospital does and to be able to help to create an even better environment for children and their families, really is a true honor," she added.

Fiona Ashcroft, chief executive at Alder Hey Children's Charity said that they are grateful to have the lottery winners on site, "They have certainly done an excellent job and played a very important part in developing our Children's Health Campus here at Alder Hey." Such a huge donation from the winners shows their selflessness and the heart to pay it forward so others can also benefit from it.

Paul J Riley, another selfless man who won a lottery of $4 million, wanted to spend the money in two ways. He wanted to buy a car for his wife and donate the money to an Animal Rescue Shelter to help furry friends. "An animal lover, he said he plans to use some of his winnings to donate to the Animal Rescue League," the Lottery said in a statement.
