Marital vows are considered sacred to maintain an unbreakable bond, yet not everyone shows equal enthusiasm when bearing their partner’s annoying habits. However, in an unusual twist to the customary practice, one couple took their promises way too seriously. To reignite the love in their somber married life, a husband and wife had their quirky house rules written in a court-related document, giving them legal sanctity. A widely circulating screengrab of their agreement, originally posted on Reddit, was reshared on the X meme page @gharkekalesh. In the contract, the couple—Shubham and Anaya—agreed to fix their on-the-rocks relationship with some unusual stipulations.

Amid Valentine’s week, a couple from India wanted to enforce stricter rules in their relationship to avoid further conflicts.

“On the occasion of Valentine’s, Shubham (Party 1) and Anaya (Party 2) will mention some house rules for both parties to avoid frequent arguments and regenerate the love in the marriage that has been suffering for a long time,” read the agreement imprinted on judicial stamp paper. Interestingly, the document placed the entire responsibility for their troubled relationship on Party 1’s "trading obsession." The husband and wife reached a consensus to follow a total of eight conditions without fail.

In case either of the two knowingly or unknowingly breaks the listed set of rules, the contract would terminate on its own. As for “Party 1,” i.e., Shubham, it went on to impose strict dinner table etiquette. “Only talk about family matters at the dining table; any discussions about the trading market are prohibited,” read his first condition. Subsequently, the husband was also tasked with maintaining bedroom decorum and avoiding "capital" discussions. The crypto enthusiast would no longer be able to call his wife by any other name than hers. “Will stop calling Anaya by names like ‘My beautycoin' and 'My cryptyPie.' Refrain from using trading apps such as CoinDCX and watching YouTube videos for coin research after 9 pm,” the conditions stated.

Meanwhile, Anaya was expected not to complain about Shubham's mischief to her mom, as stated in the agreement. “Avoid bringing Shubham's ex into an argument,” “Restrict herself from ordering expensive skincare products,” and “Restrict herself from ordering late-night food” were some other related suggestions for her.

The couple's serious agreement ended with a hilariously scary warning in case either of them failed to comply. “Important: Failure to comply with these rules by any party will result in termination of the agreement,” it read, further disclosing a punishment no one would have anticipated.

“The responsible party will have to compensate with 3 months of household chores like washing clothes, cleaning toilets, grocery shopping, etc.,” the agreement concluded. Among both parties, only Anaya had agreed to its terms and duly signed it, as seen in the screengrab. Meanwhile, the post garnered over 322,000 views.

Among the countless reactions, @RishabhJainx joked, “Not going to lie, dude seems obsessed if he's talking capital gains in the bedroom.” @khildreams quipped, “Indirectly, the husband will do clothes washing and other household work."
