In the constantly changing world, recruiters across different industries and organizations function with diverse sets of requirements. While some recruiters look for candidates with advanced educational degrees, others might search for candidates with more specified practical knowledge and hands-on technical expertise. The geographical location, mode of work, and growing industry demands are some of the crucial factors that directly influence these diverse demands of recruiters all over the globe. While asking for educational qualifications and technical skills is the basic part of every recruitment process, the keen interest in knowing the candidates’ zodiac signs is unusual and bizarre. On a similar note, a recent Reddit post shared by u/decafdopamine has gone viral in which a recruiter has demanded the candidates disclose their zodiac signs and personality test results while applying for the job position.

As per the screenshot shared, the first few demands were all standard and basic information, including the candidates' resumes, the languages they are fluent in, preferred work locations, etc. However, things took a strange turn when the recruiters asked the candidates to share their date of birth along with their zodiac signs. But wait! That's not it yet. The outlandish job requirement listing for a "Receptionist" position made it mandatory for the potential candidates to take a personality test and send screenshots of the results.

As soon as the Reddit post was shared online, people flooded the comment section with their sarcastic and hilarious reactions to the strange and uncanny demands of the recruiters. u/RaisinEducational312 on Reddit reacted to the post and wrote, "I had a manager like this in a corporate job. The poor person is signing up for the most toxic environment." While questioning the audacity of the recruiter for asking insignificant details, u/katie-ish commented, "I guess zodiac sign is not covered under discrimination laws, so."

Similarly, another individual on Reddit, u/ErinGoBoo spoke about someone who applied for a job position with similar demands and shared he "ended up getting promotions" after he lied about his zodiac sign. "I would be cautious with this because if they are asking, they take it seriously, it could be a shit show if you have the 'wrong' sign," the individual concluded. Many people even warned others that it would possibly be a very toxic place and said that it was the company's way of "targeting a very specific subset of the female population." u/lqxpl added, "Most people would be so repulsed by this being included in a job application that they'd abandon applying immediately.

Although the recent post has garnered widespread attention owing to its peculiar job requirement demands, it is not the first time that a recruiter's demand has made news because of its unconventional ways of approaching candidates. A job seeker who goes by the name u/Rare_Ad_1031, on Reddit, shared a weird LinkedIn job ad. The 8-5 job role required graduates in finance and had bizarre expectations like "Accepting of Christianity." Moreover, there was another section that read, "This position is not for someone who:" and what was listed under was not something we see every day including the recruiter's repulsion for a "yes man." People weren't at all impressed by this job listing and rather found it hilarious and freakish.
