Many men on the internet wholeheartedly agreed with her take and wondered who had let her in on their secret.
As children, many dream of careers they may never achieve as adults. However, some never let go of those childhood dreams. A standup comedian shared that most men never let go of their dream of becoming a professional athlete and it struck a chord with many people. The woman, Sarah Tiana, who goes by @sarahtiana on Instagram, took to the platform to share her perspective with the internet and many people agreed with her.
"Isn't it incredible that no matter how old a man becomes, he never truly loses the idea of becoming a professional athlete," Tiana began. "That never goes away. It just lingers back there." The standup comic went on to call the dream a "Plan D" that men tend to have. "I just gotta hit the gym a couple more days. Apply myself," the woman joked. She pointed out that their dreams are the reason men wear jerseys. "They are not fans, they are like, I could sub. Do you need a sub?" Tiana continued. "I can go straight in." She remarked how they are always ready "in the uniform" for the potential opportunity that could arise at any game.
"I stretched in the parking lot. I feel 100 percent," the woman said describing a man's internal monologue during a game. "I'll be on the third tier, row F." She ended the video with a "Put me in coach!" Meanwhile, her audience simply couldn't stop laughing through the entirety of the joke. The caption to the video read, "Never give up." The video received more than 4.2 million views and many people including men took to the comments section of the clip to agree with what Tiana had to say about men and their athletic dreams.
@nileeshchand wrote, "That was a professional one...making fun of our sincere and serious dreams which we kept at the bottom of our heart, is next-level stand-up comedy. Too good...we need more female standup comedians like her...clean bowled." @allthingsdarknmore commented, "Nearly 40. I'd love to debut in an MMA championship. Though I know I will get s**t beaten out of me way soon. Haha." @kourash2000asad remarked, "You don't know how right you are! Do you know why? Because we as men never have it as good as when we were about twelve! No female problems yet, no worries, no lack of energy no matter how long we played, just top of the world at that age! It's all downhill from then."
@rubin.66 shared, "No, but seriously, I’m 38 but there could still be a chance to get to the top 100 in my favorite sports. It's just a matter of priorities." @bisonjones30 expressed, "My problem is- I look at Messi and realize how good you have to be, then I look at players like Djemba Djemba and Maguire and part of me still thinks I have a chance even at 40." @tokavizhimomi14 pointed out, "30 here and still dreaming of becoming a professional player for Manchester United."
