The audience member was an aspiring stand-up comedian who made the best use of the opportunity he received.
Getting a chance to show your work to an audience can mean a lot to any person in a creative field. So when an aspiring stand-up comedian with cerebral palsy was given a chance to go on stage and share his jokes, he left the audience in stitches. The comedian, Adam Ray—who goes by @adamraycomedy on YouTube—was talking about his friend in a wheelchair when he heard a noise from the audience. He noticed that there was also a man in a wheelchair present. Ray called the man on stage and uploaded the clip of his performance to his YouTube channel.

Ray asked the man why he was in a chair, and he answered, "I am like Ahren Belisle, but not as bad." Ray then asked the man if he was a comedian too, and he replied, "I try." Ray called him up, and the man got out of his chair and walked up to the stage. Ray was shocked to see the man get up and walk toward him. The comedian asked, "Where are you from?" Instead of answering him, the man, Avery, told the audience, "He's not telling you that this is a Make a Wish." The audience cheered at the unexpected joke as the show went on. "Watching you get out of the chair was maybe one of the grandest things I have ever seen. I had committed to the idea that you were stuck in that chair," Ray explained.
"Don't learn how to walk properly because that is one of your hooks," the comic joked. "Obviously, this has its perks. This is like my Disneyland. I came right to the front while all of you have to sit there," Avery said. "How long can you stand before something happens?" Ray questioned. "You are going to find out that I never stood before," he remarked, making everyone, including the comic, burst out in laughter. The comedian cracked a few jokes and then introduced Avery properly before giving him the stage. Avery introduced himself again and said, "My worst fear is a field sobriety test. Ironically, I am also the best-drunk driver in the world because are they going to ask me to walk in a straight line?"
"I had another one, but I forgot, that's why you don't let retarded people be on stage," Avery pointed out as his last joke. Everyone in the audience, including Ray, thought that Avery did a really good job, especially as it was his first time on stage. People in the comments appreciated the jokes. @djacobs1021 wrote, "That's the single BEST thing these eyes have seen in quite a long while. Respect and love, empathy and laughter, that's rare in today's mad world."
@psychoof78 commented, "That dude needs to pursue stand-up comedy! He’s got the stage presence and he’s got good jokes already!" @Singular_Opinion remarked, "This is why you’re a rockstar, Adam. Whether this was planned or not, I applaud you for giving this guy an opportunity. He committed to his jokes and was funny as hell." @josephvasquez2277 shared, "Adam Ray allows regular people to feel like superstars and you can't put a price on that!"
