The teen was not feeling safe on the college campus because of how her classmates were bullying her constantly.
In today's day and age, everything is digital. Social media allows the whole world to stay connected and it comes with its own set of pros and cons. Talking about the cons of the internet, cyberbullying has also touched a new high, with bullies and scammers finding new ways every day to harass others. In a post shared on Reddit by u/Left_Wrap_5352, we see how she stands up for herself after 3 guys from her class refused to stop bullying her and it is super brave, as well as inspiring.
The young girl begins the story by introducing herself. She says that she is an 18-year-old girl who is currently studying at a college. She says that she was being bullied and harassed by three of her male classmates. The boys were texting the girl some rather undesirable things to harass her and make her feel uncomfortable. Worse yet, they were also sending her pictures, which were too intrusive for her personal space and comfort. She explains that she can't explicitly explain the details but hopes that the readers understand themselves.
Further, she explains how, ideally, she should have probably just blocked them or reported their accounts. However, she was at the end of her patience and chose to do something more impactful. Firstly, she screenshotted all the messages and images the three boys sent her. After gathering her ammo, she went in search of her target. Her target was the mothers of those three boys. She scoured through Facebook to find the mothers of those three guys and when she did find them, she put her plan in place. She sent the mothers every single one of their respective sons' images as well as messages. Along with that, she also explained to them who she was and how their sons had been bothering her. "I should have reported them or just blocked them but I had, had enough so I screenshot every message they'd sent me and found their mothers through their facebook pages and sent screenshots to them including an explanation of who I am and how their sons have been bothering me," writes the teen.
Not only were the three mothers horrified and shocked about their sons' behavior but they also sided with the girl. While most of her friends applauded her smartness, a lot didn't support it. She said, "Some of my friends think this is genius and exactly what they deserved but some of my other friends think I took it too far and it was out of line to put that on their Mothers and also how I don't know what their home life is like." She asked the community if she was in the wrong and if she should have dealt with this in another way. She also edited her post to express that when the boys were just bullying her, she did report them. But that only led to them being let go after receiving merely a warning. It was after the complaint that the boy started sending her obscene messages and photos as if to prove that she could do nothing. Hence, she took this step.
This 18-year-old girl is braver than most women out there. Not only did she do everything she could to teach the guys a lesson, but she also didn't get scared. It was also great to see the comments section mostly supportive of her decision to involve the mothers. Not just that, they also called out anyone who thought otherwise. u/tosser9212 said, "NTA. Each of these guys could potentially be charged criminally; instead, you told their mothers. I applaud you for employing a method that will ensure they have some kind of punishment from their families. To be clear, it may not be any more effective overall than reporting to the police, but it's worth the shot." They further added, "As for your friends who say you took it too far, I'd ask them how far they think the three guys have gone and whether that's too far. Then tell those 'friends' to eff off." Another user, u/heathertidwell7, said, "NTA. They shouldn’t be sending you stuff like that without your consent in the first place! It’s disgusting that some guys think that’s okay to do!"
