The bride did not let a small mishap from an adorable kid bring her down on her special day, garnering everyone's appreciation.
People often dream of their weddings being a "perfect" affair. The belief is that if everything goes according to plan, that day will be the best day of their lives. But eventually, it comes down to the small moments that make the event a memory of a lifetime. This is evident from a recent TikTok video by @thefoxsaystwins in which a bride experiences a sudden jolt of happiness because of a child's adorable faux pas. Many people in the comment section were taken aback by the little girl's action, but it was evident the bride, Karsen Eckweiler, was in good spirits about it and she's seeking to capture moments and not concerned about small mishaps.
The text overlay on the video reads: "When you can't find a napkin, so you use the bride's dress." The video featured an adorable girl who went ahead and wiped her face on the bride's dress when unable to find napkins after her meal. The bride's smile became even brighter when she realized the hilarity of the situation. Another woman then takes the kid away from the dress. In the caption, the child's mom, Kristen Fox, wrote: "Do not recommend serving ketchup with the chicken nuggets and fries for the kiddie meal... or just don't invite kids #bridefail #imsoembarrassed #weddingwhoops #rehersaldinner #kidfreewedding #kidsaremessy." She also explained in a follow-up video that the incident took place during the rehearsal dinner.
Speaking to TODAY, Fox explained: "I was filming because I wanted to capture Jayna's reaction to seeing Karsen's dress — I was thinking she gonna be mesmerized. She loves princess dresses." The 36-year-old added that she instead watched on "in horror" as the 3-year-old rubbed against Eckweiler's all-white gown.
Meanwhile, Eckweiler clarified that she wasn't upset about Jayna's actions. "She's my niece — I could never be mad at her," she shared, adding that the youngster didn't leave any mark or stain on her dress and that even if she had, it wouldn't have been a cause for concern. "Karsen couldn’t have been nicer," Fox said. "She just laughed and went on about her day." She also mentioned that her twin daughters only attended the rehearsal dinner and that they were left with a babysitter during the actual wedding.
"My husband and I had a kid-free wedding," Fox explained. "When my brother proposed to Karsen, I said to him, 'There is no obligation for my children to be flower girls. You guys do whatever you want, we're just there to support you.'"
The hilarious video has gained over a million views and 65.8k likes. Moreover, the comment section was a bit divided, but most comments appreciated the bride's cheerful attitude. @yourfriendlycolleague complimented the bride and commented, "My anger issue could never, love the bride she's so nice, mom gotta do better." @_._mama.armour_._ poked fun at the entire situation and wrote, "It's a funny story and video for the memories. Baby didn't understand. You did so well laughing it off!" @mattiejohanna shared their own experience and commented, "Lol, I had a blast with all the kids at my wedding!!!"
