People rallied around the customer who refused to ignore the snarky comment made by the Chick-fil-A employee for paying with points.
In a world that is facing unpredictable economic conditions and the rising cost of living, people resort to the best possible options while spending. Collecting coupons and reward points is one such common practice that saves a lot of money for customers at food joints or supermarkets. However, when one woman tried to use her Chick-fil-A reward points while buying a meal, she was disappointed by the humiliation she faced. Eighteen-year-old content creator–who goes by Certified Beaner on TikTok–shared her unpleasant experience with an inconsiderate Chick-fil-A employee and it resonated with many on the internet.
In her six-second video, the customer mentioned she had collected nearly 9000 Chick-fil-A reward points. So, she decided to redeem those points while purchasing a meal that included tenders, fries and a drink. However, the restaurant employee was not so thrilled about the customer buying with reward points. The employee responded, "So you basically want it for free." This reply did not sit well with the customer, who captioned the video, "Acting like I didn't earn these points." Apparently, the points added up only because she had made so many purchases previously that eventually entitled her to use the points. However, the employee chose to belittle her for doing so. The video garnered nearly 690K views on the platform, with more than 85K likes.
The comments section was filled with people sharing similar experiences with employees in food joints. Some even suggested a great comeback for the customer to handle such rude remarks. "I added the maximum amount of sauces to my in-app order. When I went to pick it up, a worker was like, 'We have bottles of sauce if you want to just buy one.' Why would I do that? Give me the free sauce," commented @amaritheeunicorn. "I used my rewards for tenders and I swear they gave me the nastiest tenders just because I got them for free," wrote @macyspore. "I'd say, 'You know what? I want to talk to a manager you don't seem to understand this concept'," suggested @erica.nellee. "It's not free when you buy food to get points to get the free food! I got a whole meal for free once," commented @_babydesii1.
On a similar note, if you want to know the knacks of getting free meals from food joints like Papa John's, Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and so on, the internet has another solution. In February, a car dealer who goes by @thankucheese on TikTok shared priceless wisdom about how to get free meals from fast food joints throughout the year in a viral video. It's a holy grail for any foodie and for people in a cash crunch. Firstly, he asked people to download the mobile app of the fast food restaurant that they wish to order from. And then, customers can enter the day they would like to eat some free food in the birthday section. "Once you enter the date, you are going to get a message from the app saying, 'Congratulations, happy birthday. So, here is something for free on us,'" he said. However little the free food might be, this hack could be worth the try.
