Halloween is all about dressing up and celebrating the creepy and cool aspects of pop culture and candy. However, office workers often don’t get much of a break on October 31. While many workplaces observe Halloween with their employees, the celebrations are usually low-key. One such employee, u/copperpin, shared a hilarious and wholesome Halloween story from their workplace on Reddit.

"Someone asked the boss if we were going to have cake for Halloween. He disappeared and came back with this," the Reddit user wrote, posting a picture of that cake that left the online community in stitches. The cake was a rectangular sponge cake, decorated with orange and yellow icing, and featured a special message written on top. "Now get back to work," the comical note read. Thankfully, both the cake and its message were taken in good humor by the employees.

The man who shared the Reddit post works in the veterans' assistance office at a local community college. He later spoke with Newsweek, elaborating on the incident. After hearing a rumor that some colleagues in the tutoring lab had a cake, he revealed, "someone asked if WE were going to have cake." Although the boss didn't respond to their query, he walked out of the office after a minute and returned sometime later with the amusing cake. "Everyone laughed when we saw the caption, and we all took pictures before digging in. I posted mine to Reddit, and next thing you know, 2.5 million people saw our cake," he shared with the news outlet. The Reddit community couldn’t contain their laughter and humorous remarks about the cake either.

u/Warriorferrettt joked, "I quit my job with a cake that said 'this is my two weeks notice.' You can’t be mad when eating Publix cream cheese icing." u/Aerodrache wondered, "More context is required. He disappeared- for, like, twenty minutes, or five? Was that a run out to the store to get the cake, or did he have one already prepared in case someone asked?" u/tehdang wrote, "The vibe is so important here. My team right now is hanging by a thread. If my boss were to do this we'd probably all quit en masse." u/Real-Investigator175 commented, "The person who asked about the cake is the same person who probably calls off because they need a mental health day." u/awesomedan24 added, "Mr Krab's energy (though in his case the cake would come out of SpongeBobs paycheck)."

In another workplace, a senior employee won over her colleagues and the internet with her creative and fun Halloween outfit. Corey Jacob, who goes by @coreytimes on X, shared pictures of his mom participating in a dress-up contest hosted by her office. In the picture posted on his X account, his mom is dressed in a simple black t-shirt and pants. However, the funny mom added her own twist by pinning various swatches of black, grey and white, giving a playful nod to the title of the best-selling erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." Jacob also shared two Snapchat images his mother sent him after winning the prize for best Halloween costume, proudly declaring that she looked cute indeed.
