There are many pet content creators on the internet and Sheldon the black cat from Ukraine is one of the many feline celebrities out there. Sheldon's owner, Nadia, often posts videos of her cat doing random things around the house and she even documents Sheldon's picture-perfect life when he tucks himself inside Nadia's specially crafted hoodie with a pouch in front of it. But looks like Nadia has not been getting enough sleep lately and she was determined to find the cause of her sleep troubles.

She hoisted up a night vision camera in her bedroom and later posted the footage on her TikTok account @sheldon_theblackcat. It surprisingly went viral in no time and the TikTok community was amused after finding out what was giving Nadia sleepless nights. In the viral footage, we can see Sheldon speed-running all over Nadia as she tries to sleep. Sheldon nibbles on her legs, arms, and fingers and jumps frantically all over her body.

In an interview with The Dodo, Nadia elaborated on Sheldon's boisterous nighttime antics. "A decision was made to buy a camera to record the bedroom 24/7, to show how crazy Sheldon behaves. I thought what Sheldon does is very funny, and I wanted to film it," Nadia told the outlet. "He runs across the bed like a demon in the middle of the night. It is often accompanied by various sounds, meowing, growling."

As Sheldon continues to battle the invisible demons in Nadia's bedroom, the footage from the night vision camera captures the feline scratching the back of Nadia's head and pawing her throat as well. Luckily for Sheldon, his human parents don't get mad at him for his late-night acrobatics in their bedroom, even though they have a difficult time getting a good night's sleep with the cat jumping around. "He perceives night activities as entertainment,” Nadia concludes. “We’ve gotten used to it.”

According to the Animal Humane Society, cats are not nocturnal animals as it is popularly believed by a lot of people. They are crepuscular creatures which means they are most active at dawn and dusk. In order to tone down your cat's night activities, a cat owner needs to keep a check on a few things. Providing adequate exercise and stimulation earlier in the evening is important for your kitty as it tires out the cat and helps them sleep better at night. Managing your cat’s behavior and environment can set both of you up for long-term success, per the outlet.

The cat-loving part of the TikTok community was thrilled to see the midnight gymnastics of Sheldon and they left tons of comments underneath the viral video which reached over 7 million viewers. One user joked that the cat is "fully charged on a Duracell battery" whereas others wondered how Sheldon's owners are able to sleep at night. @manospoursanidis pointed out: "Notice how the cat never disturbed the bro, he set some rules when that girl was not home." @nerminali055 added: "That cat loves either her so much or hates her so much." We might not be able to decode the cat's sentiments about his owner but we can tell that Sheldon is cherished by Nadia.
