Cardiac surgeon reveals four types of food he avoids because they 'actively poison' the body

The cardiac surgeon listed four foods he avoids and explained why he suggests keeping them off one's diet.

We all know how eating healthy and avoiding certain foods and drinks can benefit us in the long run. However, this doctor claims that some specific types of food should be avoided at all costs to avoid actively poisoning the human body. Cardiac surgeon Dr. Jeremy London–who goes by @drjeremylondon on TikTok–shared four types of food he avoids to keep up with his health and gave the reasoning as well.

He starts the video by saying, "Four foods that I avoid as a cardiac surgeon." Dr. London continues, "Number 1: fast food. Well, the name says it all right. Most of what's available in fast food chains is edible food products. It's not even real food." The second thing he asks people to avoid is soft drinks, both diet and regular. "Liquid death. Don't drink them," he advises. The third thing Dr. London asks his followers not to have is milk products. "Now check this out. We are the only mammals that drink milk outside of infancy and we drink it from a different species. Think about it," he expresses.

The fourth thing he talks about and we can all agree with, is alcohol. "Alcohol is toxic to every cell in our bodies, even moderate or occasional use is, in fact, detrimental. So, if we are working so hard to optimize our health, the least you can do is stop actively poisoning your body," Dr. London concludes. The video garnered over three million views on the platform. While many appreciated the advice in the comments, some did not agree with everything that the doctor shared.

@terilynngarcia commented, "I'm not giving up cheese, ice cream, butter and yogurt." @jdmlv43 wrote, "You said milk and didn't give a reason, except 'think about it.'" @pelpydawaba expressed, "'We're the only species that drinks milk out of infancy' were also the only species that went to space." @plainjane.0 shared, "Say, coach, you had me till you said alcohol." @valy_nisar said, "People have been using milk and milk products for more than 100 years and they lived longer and had healthier lives. How come all sudden milk products are bad?"

In another video, Dr. London talks about "why alcohol is so toxic to our bodies." He says that it's absorbed through our gut and metabolized in the liver immediately to acetyl aldehyde, which is toxic to every cell in the body. "It breaks down proteins, DNA, lipid cells and causes a cascading inflammatory halfway," he explains. After this, he shares that next, the body tries to turn acetyl aldehyde into acetate, which is less toxic and easily cleared by the body. "Now, this sounds good, but what happens is the body prioritizes the acetate as an energy source, which then suppresses fat metabolism in the body, which increases fat storage. This is why moderate alcohol use results in increased abdominal fat, which we know is a risk factor for heart disease in addition to cranking up the inflammatory engine that drives many of our disease processes." He ends by asking people to make conscious decisions for their bodies.
