A group of friends drove from various places and stood in solidarity with him as he finished his cancer treatment.
True friends are the ones who are with you through all the ups and downs of life. They would be there to console you and provide their care through times of sickness and adversity. This deep bond of friendship can be shown in a beautiful video on TikTok in which a young boy's friends came to surprise him on his last day of cancer treatment. The video was posted by the mom—who goes by @jandjconnor on TikTok—and shows her son surrounded by the closest of his friends.
It is not one or two friends but a big group that has arrived to meet the boy and show their support towards the end of his fight with cancer. The text overlay reads, "The oncology department's staff, doctors, and nurses all gathered to witness his surprise." Meanwhile, in the background, the song, "I'll Stand By You" by Rod Stewart plays.
"Our son was full of so much gratitude and emotion. He hugged every single friend. There wasn't a dry eye in the room," the video further reveals. The friends can be seen hugging the young boy with tears and emotions in their eyes. It is through this support and care that the boy proved to be triumphant in his battle with cancer. The video concludes with a group picture of the boy with all his friends and it is captioned, "Friends are everything." The video was taken at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
It has garnered about 12k views and 834 likes and made everyone emotional and overwhelmed. @Samuel.valez0 commented, "This is making me cry, this is so awesome!" The mother responded, "I often find myself reliving this moment, and get choked up every time, especially during the difficult days of his cancer recovery." @bonijs wrote, "This is amazing. what a great group of kids. I hope your son is doing well." @user2546020913925 shared, "So beautiful that’s what true love looks like."

Kevin Wineger, a 16-year-old, also had a similar experience with his friends. He was being treated for cancer, so he decided to host a “hair shaving” party and his whole high school football team showed up to support him, reports Good Morning America. “I basically invited the whole school saying, ‘Hey, whoever wants to, like, come shave their heads for me or just want to shave their heads, you can come over, we can do that,'” shared Winegar.
His mother, Doorly, was equally surprised by the number of teenagers who showed up. "He’s been a part of these teams at school and they’ve been with him since day one. They just kept coming and showing up and showing up. And it was so moving," said Doorly.
She also posted a video on her Instagram of the “hair shaving” party. It is captioned, "What a high! A house full of teenagers that chose to support their friend with cancer on a Friday night. There are no words. But this right here is what makes a heavy load lighter."
