A 3-year-old boy was adamant about knowing why his 7-year-old sister was upset and he wouldn't budge until he discovered the reason behind her sadness.
Sibling dynamics means they are always at each other's throats. However, when it comes to defending each other, they do not back away. When Jenny Ho, a mother of two young kids–who goes by @findingjen on TikTok–captured an adorable moment between her children, she knew it needed to be shared online. The adorable video of sibling solidarity garnered over three million views. The ring camera installed in her daughter's bedroom recorded a video of the brother and sister just after they had a squabble and Ho had to break off the fight.
"It was just before bedtime and right after the kids had been fighting and arguing over every little thing that day; it was summer and kids were home from school," Ho told Newsweek about the incident. But after a whole lot of bickering, Ho intervened, broke off their fight and sent her daughter to her room to calm down. Soon after, the camera captured the little brother entering his 7-year-old sister's room and finding her crying on her bed. "What's the matter?" he asks. "I don't know. I'm just sad," she replies. The little boy questions why his sister is just sad and she gives him the same response again.
"Because I'm just sad," she replies the third time, sounding exasperated. "Are mommy and daddy mad at you?" the little boy asks her, to which she replies, "Yes, they're so mean." "Well, I go yell at them. I go yell at them!" the brother assures his sister. When Ho appears in her daughter's room, the little boy points at his mom and yells adorably. "I sent our daughter to her room after breaking up another fight," Ho recalled to the outlet. "I knew she was upset so after a couple minutes of letting her cool down, I walked in to talk to her and was met with an angry and protective little brother who was ready to hand out some justice for his sister." Ho decided to cuddle her daughter and console her, but the little boy appeared in the doorway once again with a reminder for their mom.
"Do not yell at sissy!" he says. "Bad boy!" As the boy points his finger accusingly at his mom, Ho cleverly redirects him to their father, saying, "Not me, go tell daddy!" The toddler returns to the room again, possibly after scolding his dad and climbs into the bed with his sister and mom. "All aboard! Choo, choo!" he delightfully shouts. "As much as they bicker and fight at this age, they truly have each other's backs. Big sis always comes to his defense, and he's the same way with her," Ho admitted. "I thought the moment was so sweet and silly, and it didn't even occur to me until later that week that the Ring in her room might have captured that moment. I went back to check, and there it was." The TikTok community left a bunch of sweet comments for the sibling duo.
@thisisusart applauded, "Here's your trophy mama! For articulating feelings, showing innate empathy and the courage to advocate their autonomy. Whoa. powerful stuff." @arciizzy commented, "Remind me some of when my sister was little, she used to just come in and hug me and now she's 22." @elaineisthename shared, "Oh my God! These are my nephews! I told them to stop wrestling and then one cried and then I scolded and I'm the mean one. Then, usually, the non-injured one scolds me for being mean. I love sibling bonds." @katinoxford added, "I love how brave he is but I also love your mom look when he said 'HEY' and then scooted away to rev up the courage to give you a real talking to!"
@findingjen As much as they bicker, they always have each other’s back. Also, not me throwing my husband under the bus 😂 Thankful for @Ring for capturing these moments #ringdoorbell #ring #siblinglove ♬ original sound - Jenny Ho
