Bryan Cranston has the most 'green flag' reaction to people hating on his 'Breaking Bad' wife Skyler White

The 'Breaking Bad' celebrity explained why her character had a very rational explanation for the way she behaved.

Anyone who's watched "Breaking Bad" knows about Skyler White, the most controversial character on the show. While most viewers condemn her for cheating on her husband with her former boss, Ted Beneke, only a few see the infidelity as a response to her troubled marriage. Now, Frankie Muniz, the American actor, is also an ardent fan of the show, but like most, he absolutely despises Skyler's character. It is interesting to note that Muniz played Cranston's son in the infamous 'Malcolm in the Middle' series, and probably still feels protective towards his on-screen dad.

On April 7, during a recent appearance on First We Feast (@firstwefeast), Muniz went on to confess his feelings towards Skyler in front of Bryan Cranston, who, surprisingly, stepped in to defend not only Skyler but also Anna Gunn, who played the scandalous character onscreen.

Muniz told Cranston, 70, that although he loved the show, he hated Skyler so much that he really wanted to kill her. Moreover, he explained that all his onscreen wife did was complain and make her husband's life difficult. But, surprisingly, Cranston, who played the antihero, had a different opinion about the whole situation. "Wait, let me understand this — her husband leaves without any explanation; she is pregnant. He is making crystal methamphetamine, and people have died, and she is the b****?" he asked, making people rethink their whole perception. Moreover, the "The Upside" star went on to praise Anna Gunn, the Emmy-award-winning actress who played Skyler on the show. "Anna Gunn is a superb actor, but she got like, 'Oh, why don't you get off his back?'" Cranston added.

A study (by Kristen P. Mark, Erick Janssen, and Robin R. Milhausen) on 506 men and 412 women tried to analyze various factors that make heterosexual couples more likely to cheat (sexual infidelity) in their relationships. Researchers found that 23.2% of men and 19.2% of women admitted to cheating on their current partner. The study found that men who get turned on more easily and those who aren't bothered about the consequences (among other reasons) are more likely to cheat. However, the reasons for infidelity in females are different. In fact, researchers observed that women are more likely to cheat when they are unhappy in their current relationship.

This means that, although nothing can ever justify infidelity, whether physical or emotional, research suggests that women in unhappy relationships are more likely to cheat. If we relate it to Skyler's character, her extramarital affair on the show isn't only a simple betrayal. Instead, it's an overwhelming and impulsive result of the constant lies and manipulation in her marriage.

Now, for those who're unaware, "Breaking Bad" is a crime thriller that debuted in 2008 and ran for five successful seasons. The story follows the journey of Walter White, a chemistry teacher who starts producing and selling meth to support his family after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Apart from Cranston and Gunn, the show featured Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Giancarlo Esposito in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, reacting to Cranston's witty response, @_silly_sylviee_ commented, "It was part of the genius writing — they made us want to take Walt’s side and hate her. They made all the good people look bad and made us want to not like them for different reasons — to show us the manipulation of Walter! God, that show is pure genius and a masterpiece!" Similarly, @benditospoiler shared, "He handled that extremely well. Hating Skyler should be a first date question; it just tells you immediately whether someone has the capacity to understand a story or not."
