It isn't the easiest thing for most parents to send their children away from college or have them move out once they are ready to do so. It can be quite challenging to have to wait months to see someone you saw every day before. In some people's cases, their house also turns quieter and less busy when their kids leave, serving as a constant reminder of the kid not being there. Brooke Shields, the "Endless Love" actress who goes by @brookeshields on Instagram shared an emotional video after she dropped her younger daughter at college and it has struck a chord with their audience.

"Okay, so I sat here a year ago and I watched my big girl leave and I am back on this porch and now I am officially an empty nester," Shields shared while crying. "My little girl..." she tried to express as she broke down in tears all over again. She tried to convey her emotions but simply couldn't complete her sentence before reassuring herself by saying that at least they were together at college. "But it's really not, it's not easy," she said as she wiped her tears. "It's not easy for the moms. I mean, it's just so weird." She added, "It's so weird that she's not here."

She let out a big sigh before pointing out how hard it was to say bye to her daughter. "It was really hard and then she started crying and then I really started crying," the mom went on. "And then I cried a good portion of the ride home," she continued. "So anyway, I am an empty nester now, wow," Shields said as she let out a huge gasp of disbelief. The post's caption read, "Both of my baby birds have left the nest." The video received over 676k views garnering a lot of attention online because of the relatable situation. People took to the comments section of the video to reassure the mom that it would slowly get easier.

@debrobertsabc wrote, "I know Brooke. But it gets a bit easier and always remember that we raised them to fly away!" @therealdebramessing shared, "Oh Brooke it’s so so hard. It’s the end of an era and now you get to start a new chapter. But first, you have to cry. A lot. I laid on my couch for 3 weeks and couldn’t speak to anyone. Be tender with yourself. It’s hard because it’s hard. All of us empty nesters are sending you love." @auntcreepier remarked, "Bird Launcher. BIRD LAUNCHER! You have successfully launched two smart, capable, beautiful strong souls into the world, and boy do we need those! You are also 'Home' forever, their cornerstone, their rock, the place they will migrate to for life."

@hotincharleston expressed, "The empty nest is so empty. And it’s achingly sad. And you wonder who you are without them, who you are at all when for so many years you didn’t know where they stopped and you began. And then, you begin again. It’s a rebirth. And it becomes the most powerful and inspiring time of life. My heart aches for you. And I’m so excited for your next chapter, where you are allowed to get older and to find yourself!"
