Britney Spears announces she's pregnant with her third child and the internet is thrilled

Britney Spears on Monday shared some exciting news with her 40.5 million Instagram followers. The 40-year-old pop star sent the internet into a frenzy after revealing she is pregnant with her third child, months after she was released from her nearly 14-year conservatorship. Spears previously told a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in an explosive hearing last June that the conservatorship required her to remain on birth control despite her desire to have another child. In the now-viral Instagram post, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" singer shared that she took a pregnancy test after her fiancé, Sam Asghari, teased her about being "food pregnant."

"I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back... I thought 'Geez... what happened to my stomach???' My husband said, 'No you're food pregnant silly!!!' So I got a pregnancy test... and uhhhhh well... I am having a baby... 4 days later I got a little more food pregnant. It's growing!!! If 2 are in there... I might just lose it," the star wrote. Spears—who has two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline—added that she planned to spend less time going out during the pregnancy to avoid the paparazzi.

"I obviously won't be going out as much due to the paps getting their money shot of me like they unfortunately already have... it's hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression... I have to say it is absolutely horrible... women didn't talk about it back then... some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her... but now women talk about it every day... thank Jesus we don't have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret... This time I will be doing yoga every day!!! Spreading lots of joy and love," Spears concluded.

Asghari announced the happy news in his own Instagram post later on Monday, writing that he was looking forward to becoming a father. "Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don't take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do," the 28-year-old fitness model wrote. Addressing court in an impassionate plea to be released from the conservatorship, Spears said: "I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married or have a baby. I have (an) IUD inside of (me) right now so I don't get pregnant. I wanted to take the IUD out so I can start trying to have another baby but this so-called team won't let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don't want me to have any more children."
