'I hope they name their kid Cane.'
At a wedding captured by wedding videographer Jess on her Instagram @4everstudiostexas, one bride decided to make her fiancé's very first voicemail part of the celebration, even if he had no idea it was coming. The message, left at 1 AM after a night out, was barely coherent. But instead of brushing it off, she saved it, remixed it into a full-blown dance track, and played it in front of all their guests. The video, posted on June 26, has gotten around 1.5 million views with over 28,000 likes. According to the caption, the message began: "Carly... I... Charlie... get." It was slurred, half-finished, and clearly left under the influence.

The moment was timed perfectly. As the reception played on, the original voicemail came through the speakers, "I'm sorry, Carly Pruitt is probably drunk at her wedding. Please record your message after the tone..." Then came the broken delivery, "Carly... I... Charlie... get." All eyes were on the groom. He looked stunned, caught somewhere between embarrassment and laughter, as he realized what was happening. Then the remix dropped, and as the beat kicked in, the voicemail looped over the music, and the energy of the room totally shifted. Guests cheered and applauded the groom, who started dancing along, laughing as his own words echoed through the speakers.

But it was not over yet. Just when he thought the moment had peaked, servers began rolling out trays of Raising Cane’s, the very place he'd tried to invite her to in that voicemail years earlier. "Iconic? Absolutely. Unhinged? Barely. Romantic? More than you’ll ever know," Jess wrote in the caption. It was lighthearted, unexpected, and deeply personal, but moments like this carry more than just entertainment value. A 2013 study published in Personal Relationships found that couples who reminisce about shared laughter report higher relationship satisfaction than those who simply recall happy events. The act of laughing together, or reliving a time they did, strengthens the connection. And this couple brought everyone into that memory, turning a random 1 AM voicemail into something lasting.
People online loved everything about it and didn't hold back in the comments. @ashajayy wrote, "Their marriage is going to be so fun and filled with the meat memories they’ll constantly laugh over until they’re old and senile." @girlbrandxo said, "These two have a solid future ahead of them. Laughing together will raise you up. I hope they name their kid Cane." @oh_hey_its_danielle added, "Canes better have donated the food for this wedding because this is top-tier advertising." And @lissamarieweddingsandevents commented, "Yes, what a fun way to make such a special moment a part of your day."
While this bride surprised her groom with a remix and a meal, another couple flipped the script, and it was the groom who planned something unexpected. Philadelphia groom Mike Scar decided to keep his new haircut hidden from his bride until their wedding day. But instead of simply laying low, he spent the days leading up to the wedding in public wearing a series of bizarre wigs: a thick blonde bob at the gas station, dreadlocks while shopping, even a poolside appearance in a white wig styled like Dumbledore. He posed for photos, kept a straight face, and made sure no one, not even his fiancée, got a glimpse of the real haircut until she finally saw the reveal on his wedding day.
