A wedding is an expensive affair for many as they strive to make their “special day” totally memorable. But one newly engaged woman’s good luck brought her to the right place at the right time. A church youth leader named Jaycie Lane Tungett, who goes by @jaycietungett on TikTok, got her hands on a “perfect” bridal gown at a local thrift shop for the unbelievably low price of just $20, and the internet just can't have enough.

The bride-to-be was accompanied by her girl gang to one of South Mississippi’s Goodwill stores, looking for some “crazy” outfits to go bowling in. The now-viral video showed Jaycie, out of the blue, finding the all-white embroidered wedding dress hanging between piles of other clothes. Following this, the woman wasted no time in trying on the strapless gown.

“That is hilarious,” said Jaycie’s mother-in-law while she showed the A-line outfit to the group. As Mississippi residents encircled Jaycie, who posed with the dress and later tried it on with the help of her co-shoppers, she said, “I happened to find this, and it fits me perfectly!” She shared that she often has to struggle to get clothes matching her size.

Jaycie was shocked that she found a wedding dress with the perfect fit at the local thrift store. She later told Newsweek that almost everything she had bought in the past had to be “altered.” “Being newly engaged, I have already had to learn super quickly how expensive planning a wedding is. So, finding that dress for $20 was a big deal to me,” the bride-to-be elaborated.

The 24-second clip amassed some 5.9 million views, cheering up viewers through the surprisingly wholesome incident. Among the reactions, @thatmermaidchick wrote, “I also purchased my wedding dress from Goodwill, and I paid only about $5 to $8 for it!” Adding to it, @ressa342 remarked, “I did not purchase my wedding dress from a thrift store; instead, I found it on Shein for $77. I was elated, and my husband loved it!” “I bought a dress for $27 at a thrift store that my daughters wanted me to try on three years before their dad and I got married, even before we were engaged. It ended up being my wedding dress!” @amandamcnarney added.

Several others asked Jaycie whether she made the purchase, including @paigegallasso, who offered, “I have a new with tags (NWT) couture dress made of full silk that I purchased at a thrift store for $50. The tags indicate that the original price was $1,600. It has been sitting unused for quite some time, and I would sell it for $50.”

The soon-to-be bride later revealed that she did not buy the gown and instead posted a follow-up video of her visiting the Goodwill store again. But this time around, the dress was missing, and a cashier informed Jaycie of something that she was not ready to hear.

“Do you still have any wedding dresses?” the freshly engaged asked. After learning that the affordable gown was sold to another buyer last week, Jaycie was left disappointed by her decision. “I did not find the wedding dress. I literally want to cry,” she said, concluding her video with a request to repurchase from her TikTok family if any among them turned out to be the buyer of the dress.
